Voting Extended: Will 100,000 Say "Yes" to the Constitution?

July 4, 0001 / July 19, 2017

Asgardia is excited to announce that voting has been extended until 100,000 Asgardians accept the Constitution. This decision is based on the requests of many Asgardians and the approval of the Head of Nation. The voting on the national symbols – Asgardia’s flag, anthem and coat of arms – is also extended for the same period.

Congratulations to all Asgardians who have helped Asgardia take yet another important step in the space nation’s development!

This is not right.

You should take this as a sign that your constitution failed to pass. We need a nation where the people decide what path they want the nation to go in, and extending the voting until you get the result you want is incredibly dishonest and I denounce whoever made the decision to extend 'voting'.

As a second thought we are giving extra people the opportunity to get the additional rights. And maybe it is also a faster way to get the parliament up and running.

Have you not seen how many people haven't accepted it? The vast majority of people are not persuaded to support a bad constitution for what is basically a bribe and threat to not being a citizen if they don't agree.

We all chose a path when we first signed up at the very beginning, I'm never turning back on my fellow Asgardians, for together we're strong as a nation, we must never allow ourselves to succumb to negative emotions nor intentions, For this is were the light guided me to go, and will continue to walk its path to share its love with everyone.

When I signed up, I did NOT choose thr path Asgardia is going on. I expected a fair, unbiased actual vote on a constitution that the peolple wanted.  Saying no to this constution being forces on us is what a real Asgardian who believes in what Asgardia was idealed as would do.

A Game in which the rules change when the Game Creators need it. If the result is not they would like. This is not the first time that the Leadership of Asgardia says one thing, but does something completely different.

I agree, this is problematic. The goal as I understand it, is to get a working government up and running as quickly as possible. The trouble is, only a fraction of us are politically engaged. No matter how many people in the forum complain about constitutional monarchy, they still number only a small fraction of the population - and the mono-system of ratification follows a modified constitution that reflects this. The provisional government can look at the forum and say, "there is a vocal minority with these strong opinions." That's why I made this petition to encourage Active Asgardian Citizenship.

I think the best way is for us to vote for the constitution as it is,then set up a government,Constitutional ammendents will always follow as with any democratic government, those of us who are expecting a perfetc thing are having a bad dream, but thier contribution and criticism is so vital.Lets make it a real thing by setting up a government and being admitted into the UN then the while the leadership fights for recognition we fight for ammendments.Otherwise we are just like two fools who are debating what they will buy if they pick up some money and end up fighting. For  some of us we just wish it be a real thing .thats why we voted yes.....i respect those who abstained and i did but the most logical thing right now is to vote .
