My last post I finished with the question:
“Why I became a resident now, nearly 4 years after signing up?”
Recently I got an email from Asgardia. It was Asgardia´s birthday. I was close to just deleting it, but then I decided to enter the system in order to cancel my account.
After entering, I needed to find my way and ended up reading some of the documents, among them the Asgardia budget for 2020. After looking at the budget I had a lot of questions, e.g. how to achieve the targets set, with this kind of financial limitations?
There was another comment I bumped in, a call for the “Parliament by-election”
I scrolled through some pages of the candidates & reading the “why you should vote for me”.
Most of the candidates were just sharing their dreams. It is fine, everyone should dream (big). But for my taste I missed clear statements about what they wanted to do, in case they got elected.
This is no surprise. The big Asgardian dream is an incredibly huge challenge. It will need many genius humans in order to make even a small step forward.
But just when I was about to stop, I found a candidate who was offering some ideas what to actually do in case the chance was there. I ended up consuming all the papers of the other parliament candidates. Indeed there were a handful of them which seemed to do more than dreaming.
Of course this is not a guarantee to success, but it is always worth a try!
So I thought why not give them my vote.
This answers my original question:
I became a resident to support a handful of candidates (5). Maybe I will find some more in the remaining days.
I do not necessarily agree to all the agenda of these candidates, but I like the idea of having a plan and working on it, clear and simple steps forward. Failing, communicating the failure and learning out of failure is part of any extraordinary success.
Of course I also asked myself about the chances based on the assets Asgardia may have and the obvious bottlenecks. I may touch this in a future post.
But for the moment, have you already voted? If not, why do you not run through the candidates to find out who is matching your ideas best. Go ahead!
Asgardia has made a remarkable job in building up a solid foundation for the future. Now we need skilled people who build a functional unit on top of it. An Asgardia which also generates the income necessary to fulfil the ambitious targets
