Radiation there are really only two ways of controll. I have mentioned one way before. Mass of the algae tank's and the water in them. The other way is the same way earth does it. Magnetic field generation. Unlike mass this is an active method of controll. Less mass ...

Most likely gravity will be spinning type. As for atmosphere reprocessing algae tanks if we got a gravity. The tanks would provide some protection from radiation if under the "floor" . We could use a strains that is edible just harvest the surplus.

Effectively as jarod997 has put it, the subject of gravity is very important so that biological functions in humans are not seriously affected! I wonder if the project engineers have already resolved that issue? It seems insignificant and for many goes unnoticed but I consider it is a matter to ...

I'm sure that as the station grows from tens to hundreds to thousands of people, the psychological condition will change from "ship (boat)" family to large ship/oil rig/small village community, to small town community, to a city type of community. At first everyone will know everyone, and eventually that will ...

I strongly suspect the healthcare costs of dealing with microgravity will exceed the costs of building a rotating station for artificial gravity. We know a lot about what happens to adults in smicrogravity and it's not pretty. There are plenty of ways to mitigate it, but nothing is 100% effective ...

I can reduce the worry. The problem is "easy" to deal with. First, a little about radiation. For a gross over-simplification think of a pool table setup to go and all the balls neatly in a triangle ready to break - this represents the contrsuct of an atom. Protons, neutrons ...

I found an interesting article on the impact of radiation on astronauts' central nervous system: https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/research/experiments/137.html Either we'll have to find a material capable of blocking radiation from reaching our citizens or be prepared for a very large number of cancer patients as our space based population ages.
