TESS was made for finding new planets like earth or any place where life can exist by using TESS we can get a clear picture of our universe where we are now this TESS is more efficient than Kepler ,TESS covers 85% of the sky and 350 times than kepler and according to information it takes 13.57 days orbit to collecting the data,we can say that TESS is different from kepler which was launched on 2009,because TESS can find out the atm of an planets from very large distances.

it takes 2 years to collect the information or we can say that to get clear idea of our universe.

now what method does kepler and TESS satellite are using to find the planets?

it is called transit photometry

This method detects distant planets by measuring the minute dimming of a star as an orbiting planet passes between it and the Earth. The passage of a planet between a star and the Earth is called a "transit."

The dimming of a star during transit directly reflects the size ratio between the star and the planet: A small planet transiting a large star will create only a slight dimming, while a large planet transiting a small star will have a more noticeable effect.

The main difficulty with this method is that in order for the photometric effect to be measured, a transit must occur.

Another problem is that a planet's transit lasts only a tiny fraction of its total orbital period. A planet might take months or years to complete its orbit, but the transit would probably last only hours or days.
