Hi all  I’m Colm. long time resident first time posting! I am a Paramedic (dual registered in the UK and Ireland) and interested in the provision of medical emergency services in this new community. I love how it can be designed from scratch moving away from Paramedics not having any say in decision making in how the service is run (which is the case in a significant portion of services). I want Clinicians with full autonomy in practice and the ability to easily progress their practice and education further into urgent/primary care or critical care. I’m interested in peoples opinions, etc…

Space hotels have been the fantasy of dozens of sci-fi space movies over the years, but as our rocket and space technology continues to improve, space hotels may be much closer than you might think. Technically, we already have the International Space Station which is kind of like a space hotel itself. It doesn't have luxury amenities and extravagant living quarters, but it does support human life in low earth orbit. Moreover, NASA is opening up the ISS to private astronauts which will get it closer to becoming a space hotel. Aside from the ISS though, a company called Axiom Space is working with NASA to add tourist and habitation modules onto the ISS. As the tourist portion grows, Axiom aims to disconnect from the ISS and form its own tourist space station. The most ambitious plan comes from Voyager though. Voyager strives to build a space station that simulates gravity, offers luxury hotel rooms and villas, restaurants, and even fitness facilities. Considering all of these projects and our rapidly advancing technology, full-out sci-fi space hotels may be a thing within the next few decades.

This webinar will explore the synergies of robotic and human exploration at the Moon and Mars, highlighting the way in which robot precursors are critical for subsequent human explorers. In addition, we will discuss the ways in which humans ‘in the loop’ will markedly improve the efficiency of robotic scientific exploration, expand the envelope of exploration, and capture the attention and imagination of Earth’s global community. We’ll review both human and robotic missions including Lunar Trailblazer; Artemis Orion, Gateway, and Lander; Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), Insight, Mars 2020, and Mars Sample Return (MSR); and Mars Base Camp exploration orbital and surface missions. And, we’ll focus on emerging technologies that make this unprecedented science possible. By learning more about our solar system, we’re learning more about our home planet. Humans and robots working together make it possible.
