I grew up in the '70s when we visited the moon, and the '80s when we thought about going to live in space. Somehow our dreams all got screwed up and yes there are many causes. But the problem was, how to get to space and build a community out there. Many years have passed, and we still are not a planetary civilisation, and I feel time is running out ! Lets discuss the logistics of going to space, and how to create the infrastructure on all the earths continents to make sure that travel to and from space will just be a safe as we learned to fly, like we did a hundred years ago! Remember it was only in 1927 that we learned how to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a plane. Lets make sure our plans for travelling up and down to space can be realistic and affordable bij 2027 !

Finally I've decided to become a resident of Asgardia. I don't know if that will be of any use, but I've started supporting all causes that gives me a good feeling. Asgardia is one of them, because of of the good intentions to create a community for like-minded people. Also Asgardia has a vision for the longterm, something I miss very much in the real world. The 100 dollar fee also kept me from my decision,⁣ but I realize there are costs involved in making the community available to us. Dawn Aerospace vs Virgin Orbit During SpaceBorn United’s exploration of backup execution partners we started discussions with Dawn Aerospace. They have developed re-usable unmanned spacecraft able to deliver small satellites in Low Earth Orbit. This makes them very flexible and affordable. The MK-II spacecraft has already been tested. The MK-III version is being developed and will be able to carry our recoverable biosatellite (70-80 kg payload) enabling human conception in space. The advantage over the Virgin Orbit’s Launcher One is that all stages of the flight are unmanned. This allows for payload design that does not have to meet human rated requirements, reducing testing complexity and manufacturing costs. Launching cost are also lower, because they do not need a large and manned Boeing airplane for the first stage. All together this can reduce the overall mission cost by around 2 million euro. The Launcher One on the other hand is a lot further in it’s development and testing stages and is backed by the large Virgin Orbit corporation. Making both Dawn and Virgin options very attractive for our LOTUS/ ARTIS mission.
