Hello All, I am glad to be part of this great Space Nation. My name is Daniel Ekwevi. I am the Chief Technology Officer at Curb Consulting Ventures. I posses a Bachelors Degree in Computer Security Risk Analysis with a minor in Information Science and Technology. I enjoy writing code, fencing, and my family. I am running as the first mayor of Asgardia for the Richmond Virginia region. I am running on a platform of peace, wealth, and transparency. If elected as Mayor I plan on building a society that is welcoming and structured. I want to be the Mayor for all Asgardia's that will ensure the successful launch of Asgardia into Earths orbit. With me on your team Asgardia will not fail. I would like to create an environment that tenders to respectable individuals who would like to willingly join and grow our Great Space Nation under our fearless leader Igor Ashurbeyli. Asgardia is the first of its kind. Therefore there will be a-lot of hurdles to overcome. With this in mind electing me as your Mayor will help to ensure that these hurdles are nothing but mole hills. Hello! I’m Rebekah, though people can call me Roo. At the time of posting this, I’m a twenty three. I’m an author with my first book being published in 2015. As like most of you, I’m interested in Space and wanting to expand humanity’s options of life beyond Earth. I’m in no way fit to run as a candidate of any kind, but my political views stand somewhere between Liberitarian and Centrist. I’m currently writing my third book, Sayler (working title), and hope to be finished soon. I haven’t gone to college yet, but want to take English with a concentration in Creative Writing. In most of todays governments, transparency takes a back burner in the name of "national security" or "need to know". I believe in transparency, that is in that "the people, have a right to know what the governments actions and intentions are, unless in dire moments of terrorist threats or acts of war, which is a given. However, the hush hush, behind closed door dealings that take no account of the will of the people, in essence, removing the people's right to make informed decisions, completely goes against that which should be a democratic governmental system. This is one of the systemic failures currently in the United States Government. Most politicians who attend these behind closed door meetings, at some point, get "bought" by special interests, in turn giving their vote for that cause, which often times, completely contradicts the will of the people, or would, had the people been given the opportunity to make their voices heard. In nearly 20 years of service to countless communities, one thing that I am truly proud of in dealing with governments, at least, on a local level is that I cannot be bought. And I have always taken the utmost pride in standing up for the rights of the people. I have nothing to hide, and personally welcome transparency. Shouldn't your government?

I won't claim to know everything. But, one thing that I do know is that we can, and must do better than currently do as a human race. We must remember that a government is one that consists "of the people, by the people, for the people". We must expect better - and we must work collectively to do and be as such. We cannot afford to do things the way that they have always been done. We must think radically by stepping outside the box, and put the people first. For what is a government, if there are no people to govern?

We can do better. It starts with us (the citizens) and ends with the leadership, not the other way around.

We live in a world that is riddled with corruption, war, disease, poverty and destruction. Yet, we have governments playing games of political warfare dividing the people and inciting turmoil, all while the threats of actual war loom over each of our heads. Somewhere along the way, the governments of the world forgot (or choose to ignore) one of the greatest (and much needed) elements of all: THE PEOPLE .

I believe in Asgardia and all that it stands for. And, though Asgardia may be in its infancy, it truly is something remarkable. Asgardia in itself is a symbol of HOPE and shows a collective desire to do, and be, better than we are today. And while a lot of great things have already happened, or are on the horizon for Asgardia, there is still much to do. But, through the hard work and dedication of the hundreds of thousands of individuals like you, who are committed to the hope that Asgardia inspires, I know that WE can make change the paradigm of what it is to be a civilization.

That is why I am proud to announce my intent to submit a bid to run for candidacy for the Parliament of Asgardia.
