Re: 3D rendering: Blender

Is somebody doing the combination of 3Dgfx and 3Dprinter?

I've also been using Blender 3D modeling software for a few years now. I occasionally upload my 3D creations to my Sketchfab page @ https://sketchfab.com/overevolve/models

The Blender software (current version 2.79) has a relatively steep learning curve. However, after watching a few dozen YouTube tutorials on 3D modeling, I quickly got the hang of the interface. I've studied 3D modeling since 2001 (back in high school) using Maxon Cinema 4D software, though I made a financial choice to move on to Blender, since it's open-source, free, and has a large online support community.

I just wish there was a Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality version of the software for Windows 10. Looking to get a Samsung Odyssey HMD MR headset sometime this holiday as well as a good 8th-gen Core i7 laptop capable of running the Windows Mixed Reality software. Asus ZenBook Flip 15 UX561UD might do the trick...

P.S. I also use Blender to make various useful 3D-printable objects. I made a short YouTube video of the collection of items I have so far designed in Blender and 3D-printed on my old rusty Solidoodle 3D printer I purchased back in 2013 for ~700USD - https://youtu.be/_G89fqDX37U
