really, the only pratical system

Allot xx units to each Asgardian per year... call the units whatever you want but for clarity and uniformity i will call them "credits"

Each asgardian, no matter what they do on the station, no matter how old they are or what gender identity they choose shall be allotted xx credits per week. They will use these credits to pay for necessities like food and services. If they spend all their credits too soon and run out, then they do without for the remainder of that week. Credits can accumulate over time as well... so if you get say 50 credits per week, and only spend 45, the remaining 5 is carried over to the following week and added to the usual allotment.

This eliminates inflation, monetary devaluation, loss of income through theft, loss of income from inability to work due to illness or injury etc. The number of credits as well as the prices for goods and services will be set by the government and will not change. ever. every person will recieve enough credits to pay for 3 meals a day plus one snack per day, to pay for a "shower" (or however we will "keep ourselves clean") per day, 2 toilet visits per day, 1 haircut per 2 weeks, plus an amount equal to 1/2 of what all those cost as an example based on just those items listed here and each having a cost of 1 credit, every citizen of asgardia (living there) will recieve a total of 78.75 credits per week (counting a weekly 0.5 cost for the haircut every 2 weeks)

if they ONLY get the items listed above that will COST them 52.50 credits per week, giving them a surplus for any extras they may need, or to set aside to pay for unexpected abnormal expenses like an extended stay in the medical facilities for whatever reason.

Technicly, the problem doesn't solve like this way.

My need is doesn't you need. You receive monnai for use a service or a good? That look strange... Why use money, in this case? That not make sens, in my eyes. And, if you obtein money on do nothing, why working? Who made the meal or anything else?

Jan 5, 17 / Aqu 05, 01 10:51 UTC

Every Asgardian should have their basic needs met. Food, shelter, clothing, education, transportation etc must be provided at no cost. Any pleasures should be rationed.

Jan 5, 17 / Aqu 05, 01 12:24 UTC

Any pleasure or any supplement in food or other.

But a problem subsist: Dettente is a necessary. Today, we have lose little by little the possibility to use a detente who's free: Swiming in reaver, etc etc... I think a minima will be a obligation.

Jan 6, 17 / Aqu 06, 01 02:36 UTC

The Asgardian government should be run on a capitalistic system. Communism(or any socialist government) would work in a perfect world. But alas this is not a perfect world. Like the Perfect Gas Theory, it only works in a perfect world.

Jan 6, 17 / Aqu 06, 01 16:39 UTC

Capitalism system doesn't work to: 1- We see the limit today, we are in the end way. 2- In the begin, this system have a limite, the world. This world who have limit of ressource. With a unllimited economy and essort. That don't match.

We need a hybrid, a system adaptativ with the humanity in the center, not the money and the entreprises.

There is the system i propos. Sorry, it is in french, i need a translation:

-Bijoux -Art (Achat d'oeuvre d'art, j'entends...)

Please, if you can translate that?

Hi Etienne S,

I have Google translated your post below.

Google translate is free and easy to use, you could use it in the future and then you won't need to wait for someone to translate it for you and then there will be no delay in sharing your contributions.

""I think about our economic system, and I realize that we are in trouble right up to the neck because of the current functioning of the economy, but why?" "Is the principle of money bad in itself? No, "money" is an exchange, a barter with an intermediary. This intermediary is the object that is recovered or given in exchange for good or service. The euro, the dollar or the yen.-Usage There is another debate, but mostly, the use is not bad, since only what follows is bad. Of point of view and whatever one says, not everything can be purchased with money.

So what?

I would say that our main problem is the operation of money and especially its creation. The states of the world made a monumental mistake: They let the banks manage money from A to Z. How? By letting them create money through virtual principles. Yes, those who create money are currently and only banks.

But how? Because the first counter argument is that the banks do not print a ticket. And that's true. This is reserved for European or American monetary bank.

So how do banks create money? Well, it's extremely stupid, but by the debts. When you put yourself uncovered on your account, you create money. When a company sells its shares, it creates a debt, it creates money in line with the banks. (I advise you to go see Heu? Reka, it explains much better than me.)

But then, how to protect oneself from this worry? How can the state regulate money flows and banks?

Already, we can not fix our currency on the finite resources that lies on earth. Especially in our case: We are a nation that wishes to establish itself in space ... To avoid the "all power" of money, we must take into consideration that money must, like everything, be finished, Have a limit. Why? Because we are not immortal and nothing is, we must assume it and accept it. But this is not the only reason. In the case where for us the money is unlimited, it means that despite the loss of its strength (of its value), the money and the principle of possession is itself unlimited and that therefore a person can end up accumulating enough Money to control everything, what happens today, if my reasoning is not false.

But nothing is immutable. Also, I propose a possible alternative, one thing that I have thought for a long time. I'm not a specialist, so I'm probably full of monumental error. But I assume my thoughts.

Let's start with:

Three product categories: The first is the most important: Goods of necessity: These are the first necessities of any person at any time. By this I mean the primary necessities: - Accommodation - Water - Food (basic necessity) - Security - Health - Clothing - Movement required. -Electricity -Internet (Became necessary by the extremely common use made today, allowing to connect everyone.)

In the case of these elements, most require a salary. When we no longer have the means to have this, we get nothing (SDF) and put away society.

What I propose is not to provide these elements in detail. That would be totally illogical. But to provide the essentials. Why? Because we all have extremely different needs. Intel will have a very good immune resistance and will be able to drink any water, but will not bear not being tied to his damsel in another country, while the neighbor needs to eat more. There appears the second category:

Supplements to the necessities: This part will pay, so will require a salary and will therefore have to work if you want more than the strictly necessary.

-Divertissement -Superplus of food -Surplus of water (swimming pool, etc ...) etc etc ...

These supplements should allow happiness while allowing people to have time for them. We work to live, not to live to work. (Without exception.)

Finally, the last category: Surpluses. By that I mean things that are not especially necessary.

-Bijoux -Art (Purchase of artwork, I hear ...) -Vehicle -Luxe -Friandise -Service of the person etc.

Why categorize this? Because at the moment everything is put in the same basket with the idea that man knows how to regulate himself and will not profit from the weaknesses of his neighbor (which is known to be false, given the current damage on all Companies.)

It is clear that says like that, it seems simple. But already, a worry appears: How to set up this? How to prepare such a thing?

We are currently in an immediate consumer society. I do not say that it is wrong, we always (Or at least very long) lived in this way, we and our ancestors. But today, technology allows us to go further. We can plan, plan or prepare.

Why not put in place a planning and preparation principle? What to say?

Well, in either you do it when you're shopping: You made a list for the week. Why not do it by proposing the race list to the cashier who prepares the resources for the following week? Slowly, we will learn, as a bonus, less waste, because we will prepare in advance the resources and items sold.

I already know that it will impact companies: I know the principle of operating curve or cost / profit of a product during its production. But precisely, is not it time to push the concepts further, to make it evolve?

Here's how it would work: The customer (you, me, x.) Come to the store with the surplus list that interests him for next week. The surplus list comes complete and replace some basic elements (create in line with experts in the field and state.)

The stores receiving a series of lists can compile these lists to know what they need. Thus, they can send the compilations to the different companies in order to be able to make precise mass orders. The factory receives and can therefore create the items request by asking in turn a precise amount of things to the suppliers, who themselves have a precise list ... etc etc ... up to the raw resources. If not enough in one areas, an alternative is always possible. And this is feasible on all levels, technically.

Do not believe that I am certain of my move. Currently, what is believed to be a precise science (economics) is actually a completely unknown science and is not even a science, but a philosophy. It is based on a science that is uncertain: Sociology.

Now that I have proposed an alternative operation of companies, more predictable and less expensive in resources, here is my proposal when has the economy itself:

Part 2: Currency.

In fact, the currencies. The reason is quite simple:

For any element that remains in-house ("national" companies), there is no need for a currency that can cross borders. So a more fixed and local currency is possible while altering the "habits": Currency could be a reserve for the Asgardian. This one, in being born / becoming Asgardian creates a richness that is characterized by an amount. This amount will not bear the name of the newcomer Asgardien, because we do not know what his future will be.

Thus, little by little, the newcomers will make appear a currency proportional to the need of each one by reducing the differences of money. The reserve decreases with each loss. Currency can therefore become virtual without worry, following not a market price, but a short of the living. This currency will therefore be present to allow companies to live despite a market failure. Moreover, this currency can not be kept by the person having it, forcing the currency to turn and the person to buy the surplus or supplements. An exception: Individual projects (such as buying a bigger house or obtaining more expensive but expensive equipment, either for individuals or companies.) In this case, banks belonging to the state a More than 75% who will have to see with the person to create some kind of money chest.

The second currency would be more international, made to allow the Asgardian / Other country exchanges. The currency would function as the current money, but with duality, would have far less impact.

Small basic principle nevertheless, there must be priority of the first currency on the second, to prevent a person from buying all the internal currency with the external currency. Prevent a person from storing money, in short. "

Best wishes, Lloyd

This system is not practical in the least it does not account for such things as emergencies or additional expenses such as medications and other healthcare items. It also basically gives the government or whatever institution that would be in charge of the credit system. Total control over the lives of the citizens by limiting what they can do. By having direct control over the amount of credits they have available and no government should ever have that kind of control over it's citizens! This system is a disaster waiting to happen and in the kind of situation it could bring about one will.

The citizens would be angry and on a space station that is never a good thing!

Feb 1, 17 / Pis 04, 01 21:38 UTC

This amounts to a planned economy if put into practice and the problem with planned economies is that they are slow to respond to sudden changes in demand (=need for basic goods) and have difficulty in accounting for variation of needs among citizens (special diets, for example). The other problem is that it disincentivizes productivity, since your needs are provided for, or not, regardless of your maximum performance.

Universal basic income schemes accomplish the goals of this kind of system with far less problems. On a space station, free rations of basic life needs goods combined with the ability to purchase more than the rationed amount is an easy implementation of a de facto UBI.

Also, unplanned capitalist economies are de facto planned, they just happened to be planned on an ad hoc basis by every individual in the economy. These are evolved systems, which tend to be stable, if suboptimal and vulnerable to sudden corrections, if they aren't fully free markets.
