If we're to move toward transparency, the first step is likely to be publishing open website code on github or gitlab, so each and every geek could get more information about our website, also, it can make Asgardia more popular, that's easy way to emphasize equality of  our members, reinforce confidence. What you think of that, folks?

I have actually done just that when I created my Constitution Proposal last month:

I just mean that website code should be open for all users, like github or gitlab, they have maximal transparency, this is well-known practice. it's good idea, it is modern and technologically. gitlab community edition is running exactly in this way, for instance. Or, if administration of our project do not want to do that, i'd recommend do not trust them. That's it.

Also I sense a lack of privacy and best security practices, this could be better understood and fixed with an open source model.

Asgardia generated my password server-side, sent it by e-mail and did not ask/require me to change it. This puts any accounts at risk.

My account is set so "nobody" can see my location but it can be seen from the map. This puts any asgardian privacy at risk.

We need technology/security-literate people to work on asgardia and all code to be open sourced.

I find quite ironic that the first nation in space will potentially have the security / privacy of a third-world country and cannot be pubicly audited.

This is a much more urgent item than selecting a flag or anthem IMO.

As a side note, IMO hosting the constitution in a git repository could be a first step. Adding the possibility to vote for pull request with your citizen ID would help with a way to democratically improve it. Of course a simplified UI for non-coders would be needed as well.

We can't even talk to our leaders. Thus far, transparency doesn't seem to be something leadership nor administration seem overly interested in.

Hi!

We cannot offer the source code for the website as an open source currently. However, we welcome the community in finding bugs and suggesting fixes as they are able since it makes it much easier to track down and fix.

Why? What is the reaoson?

Till the time we deploy open source the whole idea of Asgardia looks like a not very fun game for kids, an adult and adequate user will not join the project "for sake of creation of a new space country"
