Code of Conduct

  1. General

    1. Polite Language:

Asgardia has a global community!  As a result, what might be acceptable to say in your part of the world, may not be elsewhere.  Please consider this when posting and don’t use direct profanity, sexually explicit language or other offensive content towards another community member.  Similarly, while reading other community members posts please remember that words you find offensive may not be offensive to the writer. Tolerance is required at all times.
    2. Use of English:

Due to Asgardia being a multilingual nation we ask that everyone please use English as a “lingua franca” within the “main” areas of our forums.  We understand that English may not be understood by all, and in these circumstances we ask that you please use an online translation tool to assist you.

You are always invited to post the original message in your native language with the English translation.
Please include English translations of your post, profile information, signature lines and any other material inside our resources.

Resources that include native translations or are designed for a specific language group are exempt from this condition under most circumstances.

  1. One Community Member, One Account:

Please create and use one account within our resources.  Administrators will disable multiple account as they are found, which may include your original account.

  1. Compliance with Code:

Compliance with conditions in this Code of Conduct is required. Your use of our resources implies your acceptance.

  1. Relevant Environment

  1. Keep Content on Topic:

Discussions should bear relevance to the wide interests of the Asgardia Community. Topics on space science, technology, science, culture and lifestyle of Asgardia citizens and conversations about the future of humankind are considered appropriate when approached with wisdom and reason. Your posts should start conversations and provoke thought - please do not simply share personal anecdotes or links to articles without considering their relevance to our Community. Many of our groups, forums, and chats have designated themes. Please follow those guidelines when you post content. Some content of a repetitive or potentially active nature are contained in designated threads. For example, before you post an introduction or material about religion, look for dedicated posts where you can share that information and participate in existing discussions.  If you are unsure of the relevance of your material, please contact the moderation staff at adminteam@asgardia.space.

  1. Hijacking a Topic:

When posting a reply or comment please remain on topic to the original post as much as possible and do not hijack other community members post in order to promote another post, unless it is directly relevant to the subject of the original post.

  1. Selling of goods / Advertising:

Please don’t use other community members to try and sell material or services. Advertising is discouraged, yet may be permitted if discussed with a moderator first; staff decisions are final. Topics containing links to unsanctioned Asgardia content or to any kind of unrelated content, particularly sales or marketing material, might be locked or deleted without notice.

  1. Cross-Posting:

As a large community, we do not need unnecessary clutter. We ask that you post your message only once in a given area. Moderation staff may move material to a more appropriate board without notice.

  1. Chat, Groups and Live streaming:

You are free to create and use any mode of private group, chat or video streaming service to communicate with other community members. However, please be aware that any private communications that spawn as a direct result from contacts with other community members may be subject to this code of conduct.  We require that any such groups or individuals to obtain permission from administrators prior to advertising their outside group or before initiating a live-stream in a public group or forum.
