Depends pretty much on how you define the "Spammer" state. There are several ways to do such thing.

General prevention is to cap maximum posts per time interval. Legit posters which would excede the posting limit could be excluded then by mods.

Seriosuly tho, as previously mentioned simple tweaks to the current input system for posts within a certain timeframe, or specific user agents and or system fingerprints will drastically reduce possiblilty of automated posts. Currently I've only seen manual spam so ideally the input system would also check the content of what they have posted against content they have previously posted - repetitive links or terminonlogy can depending on level of match disallow posting or flag for moderator attention.

Something simple like fail2ban would be trivial to make observe the ngnix logs and additionally respond in near realtime to the likes of high rates of traffic indicating clearly inhuman use, report and catalogue common attempts at exploitations, just about anything you can pattern or define a response.
