ON WHAT GROUNDS CAN ONE'S CANDIDACY BE REMOVED?

The rules of participating in Asgardia’s mayoral elections are very democratic. Nonetheless, there are rules the violation of which makes further participation on pre-election campaigns impossible.

First and foremost, a mayoral candidate cannot be in violation of the Constitution of Asgardia. Similarly, actions such as violations of generally accepted rules of behavior, repeated attacks on opponents and constituents, and inciting social, racial, national or religious discord can be grounds for termination of one’s candidacy.

In all of the above cases, the Central Electoral Commission can decide to terminate the mayoral candidacy and suspend their campaign. The candidate will be notified about the commission’s decision by an official letter sent to him/her by the support staff of the election office of Asgardia’s mayors.
