The International Astronautical Congress heads to Australia
The Australia and New Zealand Chapter of Civic Asgardia is excited to announce that the International Astronautical Congress is holding this year’s event in Adelaide, South Australia from 25 - 29 September as reported by Australian Asgardians group today.
This years event will mark some important anniversaries of human endeavour in space including:
• The 60th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik 1
• The 50th anniversary of the signing of the Outer Space Treaty (OST). The OST seeks to ensure that outer space remains accessible and available for the benefit of all humankind
• The 50th anniversary of the launch of Australia’s first satellite, WRESAT
In commemoration, the Australia and New Zealand Chapter is looking to organise an inaugural Chapter gathering to coincide with this event. While this is a fantastic opportunity for all Asgardians from Australia and New Zealand to come together for the first time, the members of the Australia and New Zealand Chapter recognise that Asgardia is a global community and warmly welcome all Asgardians to join them.
Any Asgardian who is interested in attending this event are strongly encouraged to complete the expression of interest form to advise the volunteer staff of the Australia and New Zealand Chapter of your interest. Additional details will be provided closer to the date of arrangements if there is sufficient interest in attending the event.
