It was six months ago, today, that Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli announced his plans for an independent space nation, Asgardia. What are your thoughts on the matter? How do you feel we have progressed since then?

Hello fellow Asgardians! We are currently working on a proposal to implement an Asgardian citizen based IT team, ACIT for short. The goal is not to replace the current IT staff (AIRC IT), but to compliment it and assist with much of the burden already faced. The intent and purpose ...

I do some programming, have basic HTML and RSS knowledge, and have years of experience in troubleshooting hardware problems. My skills are available to Asgardia whenever I can spare them.

So I have seen a lot of heat placed on our mods and admins about the state of the forum; bugs, security issues, problems not being addressed, etc.. From what I have come to gather, our current IT team is the AIRC IT team. I would imagine that they already ...

I do realise this, as I have been following this thread for a long time. My initiative is supposed to bring people interested together and do some projects for fun. I was considering creating a site outside of this forum. The idea is to bring Asgardian programmers together and get ...

Hey m2xu, sorry it seems that nothing real has been done, which in all actuality, short of some communications back and forth, and the development of the proposal to be submitted, is accurate. Not a lot has been done. The problem we currently face, not so much being the lack ...

I got some really cool ideas, and I am really excited such a group is already in place. Until I found nothing real has been done. No project has been started. Also, Some basic, non-security, projects could happen on some open-source places. I was thinking of making a social service ...

Would joining one's current national military be considered a conflict of interest with Asgardia?
Jun 13, 17 / Can 24, 01 09:28 UTC
There is no reason current or previous military service should represent a conflict of interest with Asgardia. Nothing we're doing should be of interest or concern to your employer and your actions in this endeavour as part of your countries military are just that, your actions as part of your ...

I do agree with #Phicksur, six months is a very short time to evaluate the progress but still we can go over the pros and cons.
Major steps has taken towards to be established as a state may be not a nation yet. Declaration of Unity is under review, Draft Table of Contents of Constitution of Asgardia and election date is announced. We have a president and a new Calendar. These are visible progress. My assumption is Mr. Ashurbeyli's team of professionals are busy with satellite plans and rest of the details prior to the election date. There are many initiatives taking place at IT side, we have a well designed tool as Forum. There is an NGO initiative which will enable Asgardia entity operate in a much legislative free manner. One of the most positive moves is weekly announcements on FB page, but I think at this time rather than technical issues we need more PR related news.
As, forums participant Asgardians and mediator team, we are heavily engaged on discussions, with hope this will lead somewhere. Anyway, things have changed since the days of Ancient Athens where democracy and issues handled at the forum level, my belief that we can contribute positively to the decision making process.
On the cons side my concern is, decreasing interest for Asgardia concept and lack of commitment from the initial registered numbers. I think this very much reflects the #pwmmal's thought. How are we perceived as announced back six months ago ? What were the expectations ? Where we stand now? Was Asgardia so far satisfy those expectations?
At the forum level we are discussing every related and unrelated topic but this must be one important issue we must find a way to address. What can we do to promote Asgardia more effectively and how ?
We have a radio channel VOA, only the ones who visits every corner of forum is aware. ANN is under development but must be promoted effectively. There was a project for Asgardia Application I am looking forward further info. ( There are so many other nice projects are going on, but I feel that they are reactive rather than advanced planned proactive steps to promote Asgardia more effectively which I believe is the most essential priority at the moment, we need aggressive marketing now before losing interest more further ).
There is no limit for human imagination and notions, so far our major constraint as I understand was staffing, I hope this issue will be resolved after recent recruitment initiative.
Forum is the only display for Asgardia which reflects the general attitude of Asgardia and Asgardians, we must be keep this in mind.
We have had a lot of discussion, very little communication, and even less action.
But, this is pretty much what I expected to be happening at this point. Things take time.
