Ivan Rosel mentioned in his www.spacecitizennews.com/scn017-podcast-episode-17 that the ammount of residents dropped down from 18916 to an actual of 2409 residents (of today). And as I understand it those are the only ones contributing to Asgardias financial budget (besides electoral fees and generous donators). I'm quite sure that those 100 € from 2409 ppl won't even cover the costs of the actual administration efforts, not to mention any of our dreams of space travel or exploration. So what can we do to to bring more Asgardians to the point of paying a resident fee and facing responsibilty for that dream? Well I think 100 € is not so much for me located in the EU, BUT it is probably the hell very much for some Asgardian enthusiasts from Bangladesh, Nigeria or India. And let me say I believe we need the full human diversity of experience and knowledge for our goal to enter space as a nation. For the strength of our nation we need this decentralisation, too. So, why nor declaring 4 or 5 categories on the base of their income: www.worlddata.info/average-income.php as a measure of time until Asgardia is fully established as a nation. That means Asgardians from Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan would pay according category 1 the lowest fee of lets say 10 or 20€ and most of the european ppl according to a category 5 the highest fee of lets say 200€/year. That would allow even young ppl, students, pupils from less wealthy countries to contribute AND participate in that fascinating dream and drive up the numbers of our financially supporting community from all countries. Perhaps we could have a public vote from all Asgardians about that suggestion after a thorough discussion. What do you think or like to add or comment?

In Part 1 I mentioned how important the initial conditions are for something completely new like Asgardia. Today, in a very rough sketch, I would like to talk about political participation and the connection to the economy, and what potential this has for Asgardia. You may like to read the short story: Heaven and Hell https://theunboundedspirit.com/heaven-and-hell-the-parable-of-the-long-spoons/ IMHO for Asgardia should only political systems come into question, which are organized parliamentary AND grassroot-democratic AND which have a bottom-up structure. The citizen of Asgardia must have the last word, not any experts, technocrats, lobbyists or constitutional courts. I would like to refer here to the system of Switzerland as a raw model (in which I had resided for more than 10 years). The political and economic power emanates from the municipalities + cities, continues in the cantons and is the weakest in the federation. It is not without reason that Switzerland describes itself as an oath-"cooperative" (german: Eid-„Genossenschaft“). This bottom-up structure, which corresponds to natural growth (think, for example, of a tree), is figuratively rooted in the citizen and leaves the least room for corruption and wastage of taxpayers' money. Switzerland also mirrors this very nicely: It has a (main) VAT rate of ONLY 8% AND, at the same time, a top state of public infrastructure, whether we are talking about telecommunications or public transport or education AND at the same time high income for citizens. At the model of bottom-up organized Switzerland we can realize the political-economic synergies and efficiencies that would also be possible for Asgardia. The big neighbor Germany with a democratic top-down system with a strong federal government and weak municipalities and no grassroots democratization of the citizen at the federal level, however, is almost a third world country with 19% (main) VAT rate, bloated parliament and inadequate conditions in infrastructure, telecommunications, education and public transport and enormous waste of taxpayers' money without real political accountability of the responsible politicians. At the same time, the income of German citizens is barely half as high, with regard to simple employment even only 1/3 of that of Swiss citizens in the same occupations. But even the Swiss system has mistakes that we should not take over. For example there is no obligation to disclose donations for elections, initiatives or referenda. Referenda in Switzerland can and have been influenced by high inflows of money from industry, e.g. in the Generika Initiative, where the pharmaceutical industry has created so much fear that generic drugs may be inferior in quality to the orginals, that they won the referendum to the detriment of the citizens. There are also no rules that prohibits scaring people or demagogic images and half-true statements in elections and referenda. Asgardia should avoid these mistakes from the beginning and could have the most up-to-date drafts of a possible grassroots democracy approved by dedicated NGOs, e.g. in Germany: Mehr Demokratie e.V. https://www.mehr-demokratie.de/ Those NGOs could support Asgardia with building a political system and as a sideeffect we may gain professional new citizens from them. Then I would like to propose something completely new in a rough sketch, which does not exist in any political system on earth and is not covered by democracy NGOs: Asgardia should get its own public parliament for all companies and freelancers. It would consist of several professional chambers and commitees, which discuss and decide on all issues and needs of companies and freelancers in PUBLIC. However, the parliament of the citizens has the last word on these decisions, also in public negotiations or if a referendum is initiated. At the same time there is an absolute ban on lobbying by high punishment. The main idea behind this suggestion is the idea that companies have to openly discuss their needs with each other and adjust those to a compromise and to the benefit of companies AND citizens. This has never been done before. I am an entrepreneur myself and find all previous systems of communication between companies and the state completely outdated and extremely vulnerable to corruption. Here we need a completely new approach for Asgardia, that we not fall into the backroom-politics of past centuries, which ultimately harms the citizens of Asgardia, and indeed Asgardia as a whole. Also companies and freelancers will highly benefit from this new approach, too, as the high load of bureaucracy and much more could be avoided and could make Asgardian companies and freelancers more competetive in international terms.

Thats a winged saying in Germany from the poet Goethe. We in Asgardia are exactly at this point. We want to create something new. Something that unites the best of the old world and the most promising visions, ideas and approaches of a new world. In all disciplines, not only in technology, but also in legislation, the monetary system, political and economic participation and also political communication, public opinion, in social integration and social vision, in the health system, in education, the appreciation of mothers and children, the protection of intellectual property, the defense of our values ​​and much more. Surely some of you readers know simulation games (SimCity, Civilization) with which you have to rebuild a city, a country, a whole world from the beginning. It is easy to see how the initial conditions of the game, the first steps in the game, make a big difference to the later development. Do I build barracks or a library, a marketplace or a temple? Do I take the path of political and economic participation or do I leave it in a top-down power structure? For Asgardia, I wish the best, or rather the most valuable of the most valuable human achievements in all fields! Not the current median of most nations. Not the repetition of unrestrained greed, corruption, lies, indifference and vanity. With Asgardia we have a fantastic chance to break new ground.
