I was thinking for authentication purposes, and to help create a secure connection to our system, we could modify a version of Linux and distort it to our community. I was looking at elementary OS as an option, we can build in the network authentications and ensure that there is a secure connection. Since we are all operating around the globe, we can utilize a VPN service (I personally use VanishIP but maybe we can even develop our own) and ensure that our connections are secure. Then, once we compile the OS Distro, we can make the .iso available to download through asgardia.space and build a macro to install it onto a USB Bootable device or provide instructions for dual booting Mac/Windows onto our OS.

Thoughts?

E' mia opinione (da non legale) che, anche se, come hai correttamente affermato, non esiste la possibilità di " richiedere lo spazio come territorio " oltre un certo limite (Kármán line, 30 km, 50 km, altro a piacere: sarebbe interessante scoprire qual'è ma forse è tutt'ora indefinito), le nazioni stiano utilizzando leggi simili a quelle marittime ( C onvenzione delle N azioni U nite sul d iritto del m are, UNCLOS, di Montego Bay, Jamaica) per le quali, ogni imbarcazione navighi nelle "acque internazionali" è "territorio dello Stato proprietario dell'imbarcazione", questo anche se "il mare" in cui l'imbarcazione sta navigando non può esser riconosciuto/richiesto come "territorio" di per se.
E' infatti l'imbarcazione ad essere una sorta di "territorio mobile (galleggiante)" sulla quale valgono, per l'appunto, le leggi dello Stato di cui essa batte bandiera (leggi, tasse, ecc.).

Allo stesso modo che, a quanto ne so, la ISS sta utilizzando per gestire l'accesso "territoriale" all'interno dei propri confini (anche se non è stato semplice definire gli accordi): l'ISS non "possiede" lo spazio entro il quale si sta muovendo (orbita) ma, all'interno dei propri confini, esistono un certo numero di regolamenti e leggi che si riferiscono alla "proprietà": in effetti, senza gli accordi intrapresi, ogni modulo sarebbe considerato come una porzione dello Stato (o ente sovranazionale) proprietario.

A quanto ne so, non esiste un " limite delle 12 miglia " (22 km), come " territorio locale ", della ISS o di alcun altro satellite orbitante attorno alla Terra o altri pianeti, esattamente come non esiste un " territorio locale " attorno alle navi in navigazione nelle acque internazionali.
Una cosa interessante del progetto di Asgardia sarà anche il fatto che, in modo naturale, forzerà l'emergere di una " legge dello spazio ", e mi pare una buona cosa.

In my humble and non-legal opinion, even if, as you correctly stated, there is no possibility to "claim space" beyond of "some limit" (Kármán line, 30 km, 50 km, or any other), nations are using kind of "sea laws" ( UNCLOS, Montego Bay ) by which, every boat into "international waters" is "territory of the owning State", this even if the sea itself can't be claimed as "territory". Thus, every ship is recognized, by law, as sort of "mobile territory" where the owning State's laws are in force (each boat is registered to a definite State, by law, inheriting its laws, taxation, etc.).

The same way, as far as I know, the ISS is using to rule the " territorial access " into it's boundaries (even that, not so simple matter to rule): ISS is not owning the "space" into which it's traveling (orbit) but, into it's boundaries, there are a number of regulations ( english refs. ) in effect, which are "ownership" ones: as a matter of fact, without the existing agreements, each module should have it's "owning State's" laws.

As far as I know, there is no " 12 miles " limit, as " local territory ", for ISS or any orbiting satellite around the Earth or any other planet, the same as there is no " local territory " around any ship into international waters.
An interesting thing about Asgardia is it will naturally force new "space laws" to emerge, which is a good thing IMHO.

The horizontal boundary for any given territory is set at 22.2 km (12 miles) from the coast line.  Pretty much the same as the maritime definition.

The vertical boundary, as you say, is a little more complex!  There is currently no international agreements on this subject.

As the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 states "[outer space] is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means".

So the boundary between Earths atmosphere and outer space is therefore the question as anything beyond that cannot be claimed as territory.

Historically suggestions have been made on a point ranging from 30 km (19 miles) (highest aircraft and balloon maximum altitude) to 160 km (99 miles) (the lowest extent of short-term stable orbits). Another definition proposed in international law discussions defines the lower boundary of space as the lowest perigee attainable by an orbiting space vehicle, but does not specify an altitude. Due to atmospheric drag, the lowest altitude at which an object in a circular orbit can complete at least one full revolution without propulsion is approximately 150 km (90 mi).  While the generally accepted "edge of space" is marked by the Kármán line , at an altitude of 100 km (62 mi), as established by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale .

So if we take the marginally more accepted Kármán line, we have an upper limit, and anything beyond that point is international space which no one may lay claim to.

However it is not that simple, as you stated:
The Bogota Declaration , in which several equatorial countries asserted their legal claim to control the use of space above their territory. This was applied to objects that orbit in a geostationary orbit at about 35,800 km.

This would indicate that a territorial claim can be made on objects that are past the Kármán line and in outer space, against the conventions of the Outer Space Treaty.

So hypothetically Asgardia may be able to acquire some orbital "plot" from a nation, and by placing a satellite there it may be possible to make the claim of having a territory in outer space.

Concordo con molto di quello che hai detto circa le democrazie attuali, @spaceowl ... per questo, alla fin fine, nel poll dedicato ho scelto la tecnocrazia, ovvero " il governo dei più capaci ", almeno nelle migliori intenzioni.
@skieswanne , scienziato a sua volta, sembra avere discrete obiezioni su questa forma di governo, ricordandoci come anche gli scienziati siano esseri umani ed, in quanto tali, capaci di radicalizzazione ed esclusione di altri scienziati in base a giustificazioni capziose (di cui portava un paio di esempi).

L'unico mio dubbio, in proposito, è che "la scienza", pur con tutti i "se" ed i "ma" del caso, tende ad avere delle opinioni molto nette, dettate da formule e ragionamenti che lasciano poco spazio alla cosiddetta "umanità", e non so quanto questo modo di procedere si adatti alla persona umana che sarà l'asgardiano.
Di contro la politica tende ad essere "un pò troppo umana", come hai ben delineato tu: un conto è il cercare di tenere assieme le cose, dato che, in ogni caso, uno dei compiti della politica è proprio la mediazione fra esigenze diverse, diverso è farlo come fine e non come mezzo, onde occuparsi solo delle "poltrone".
Personalmente spero che, col tempo, si arriverà (non solo su Asgardia) ad una via di mezzo in cui la mediazione avverrà rispetto a decisioni basate sul metodo scientifico, e che le persone coinvolte non saranno, per così dire, "prese dalla strada" ma gente competente nel campo in cui andrà ad operare.

Quanto, infine, alla monarchia... no, mi spiace, non son pronto ad inchinarmi ad un Re. ;-)

Io invece penso che sia giusto che ci sia una monarchia, una monarchia di scienza, non una monarchia qualunque, la scienza di suo limita il concetto di monarchia infatti probabilmente è stata istituita per scongiurare l' ipotesi che gente come i politici o i greggi odierni rovinino questa fantomatica democrazia di cui tutti parlano facendola diventare stagnante, marcia e inutile ad un' umanità evoluta. Inizialmente sarebbe meglio la democrazia, ma dare potere al popolo vuol dire dare il potere a tutti, e di questi tempi penso sia sbagliato, i ragionamenti della massa mi fanno paura, troppa gente parla o agisce senza essere consapevole delle proprie azioni, e basta un nulla perché il gregge si muova a comando, senza nemmeno rendersene conto. La democrazia funziona se tutte le persone che la compongono sono sufficientemente preparate, e se hanno una coscienza ed un rispetto delle cose e degli esseri viventi che gli stanno attorno, purtroppo più mi guardo intorno più vedo persone senza scrupoli che guardano solo al loro interesse personale e sinceramente non voglio succeda anche a questo progetto. Votare senza sapere cosa si sta votando o partecipare a delle discussioni senza avere la minima conoscenza degli argomenti porta solo a confusione, disinformazione, lentezza e burocrazia interminabile! Non per criticare o additare qualcuno( non è questo lo scopo del post sia chiaro) ma a mio parere nelle democrazie mondiali si dovrebbe istituire un patentino per votare, per far figli, e anche per divulgare informazioni. Ovviamente ci sono molte cose da migliorare, e molti sbagli da correggere, ricordiamoci, siamo esseri umani, e ricordatevi che le leggi sulla segregazione razziale erano attive negli stati del sud ( in America) fino a più o meno 50 anni fa (democrazia hahahahah)... la razza umana è giovane ed inesperta, ne dobbiamo fare ancora di strada, quindi bando alle ciance, è ora di tirarsi su le maniche!

Non hanno preso in considerazione quattro pagine di "suggerimenti" (no, sto sbagliando, quello sui robot spaziali l'hanno inserito), più svariati thread linkati, sulla Costituzione , se ne sono bellamente fregati di venti pagine di feedback sul Documento di Unità (e qui manco i robot spaziali ci hanno messo: prova a fare un diff fra i due documenti, prima e dopo, e vedrai), hanno tranquillamente sorvolato sul motto (il futuro Re s'è scelto il suo ed amen).
Dimenticavo: anche quindici pagine di discussione sulla Table of Contents sono state ignorate senza problemi.

Personalmente, ho scritto un ultimo post nel thread di (wannabe) "raccolta feedback" e non dirò altro. Anche perchè un commento è tale, ma ripetuto diventa inutile danno ad un (molto eventuale) processo di miglioramento. Mi pare, comunque, di essere abbastanza in linea con il parere di quanti abitualmente frequentano il forum.

In due parole, qui, ammetto che ci sono un sacco di cose oscure , che non mi sono piaciute: registrazioni di società, a Cipro ed in Svizzera, senza che sia stata data un minimo di notizia, qui in forum (mentre, tanto per dire, ogni decreto sull'aria fritta è seguito da fanfara), le informazioni, che pure chiediamo, verranno sempre date " a breve, dopo, fra un mese, un anno, un secolo ". Ora... non la voglio fare lunga (dato che ne ho già scritto in inglese), però dare un voto, essenzialmente di fiducia , in una situazione simile, mi pare francamente eccessivo: la fiducia va guadagnata, in genere con la trasparenza, non può essere pretesa.

Ho tentato, come tanti altri, di influenzare la creazione dei documenti fondamentali. Non tanto perchè ci credevo, quanto per il fatto che non credo ci si possa lamentare, se non si è fatto nulla per tentare di volgere le cose in positivo. Pare che non sia servito. I suppose you are talking about what one does to EARN this currency, citing social behavior. For those who are not particularly sociable, or charitable, or even nice, it removes them from the economy. Essentially, it sounds like a punishment for those who are not as sociable as others, which would be immoral.

When we have a constitutional draft out, I was going to write up an economic system (I have a degree which included finance and accounting and work in government accounting now, so I have a fair amount of expertise) and submit it as an official proposal. When that happens, I will be taking public commentary and input (not necessarily adding everything in, as that'd be a hellacious mess the way some speak).

as I've told before, speaking of " points ", " credits ", " asgards ", or " solars " is, at last, the same , as " 1 point ", in your post, will represent some kind of " work unit equivalence "... exactly the same as " 1 asgard " (or " 1 solar ") will do.
As you'll end with some kind of currency anyway, why to adopt an "hidden currency" when you can adopt a real one?

You also recognized the need of a real currency for Asgardia/Earth's exchanges: why keeping the internal  (de facto) "currrency" separated from our external one?
I feel this separation may lead to some problems.
