Why I Became A Citizen
When I first heard of what Asgardia was, and what they existed for. The reason why they felt it was necessary to create a nation that isn't of earthly desires. I was extremely excited. I feel it's extremely important to advance the human race to travel and start to become apart of the universe we live in. Statistically speaking it's impossible for our planet to be the only one that allows for intelligent life. Therefore, it's our duty to seek out and expand our race into the stars. To do that it takes more than just corporate companies that want to reach the stars for profit. I'd love to be apart of something that wants to reach the stars for discovery, passion for connection, and learning and sharing with other possible races that we encounter.
This may sound a bit like Star Trek, but let's be honest is their mission too bold to dismiss as reality? I don't think so. I feel that there is only so much that capitalism can answer in regards to our problems as a human race. A scientific, engineering perspective is necessary to bring us to a time where we focus on patience, love and forgiveness. Rather a time where our focus isn't on money it's on connection with others, and growing together as a race.
Why I Feel It's Imperative That Asgardia Succeeds
What more do we connect with during our travels as engineers, businessmen/women, scientists, and politicians? It's communication, connection, and overall sense of belonging. I became a citizen not just as a ruse. It was because I believe in something more to be something more. I'm no expert and I hold no PhD's, but what do I have to offer Asgardia and it's citizens? Connection, I feel that through all the busyness of engineering, building experiments, and talking politics. That we forget to truly connect as individuals as a human race.
Although I'd love to just be under different experts and learn to see what field I would really enjoy. With the education being free (because learning should be free). We strive to belong, and to connect with one another. That I feel earth has taken that perspective as just an activity done outside of work or during your "Free time". I truly believe with this blog post being evidence of this that our connection to each other is the most strongest thing we have as a human race. We are stronger than we even comprehend.
We need to grow as a human race. Not to be divided or on separate sides. We can all agree that we need to eat, sleep and feel safe while we learn and gain skills. I feel that it's important to fix the issues plaguing our race. That we can only do by working together to find solutions that are something out of this world ;). It would be ill advised to follow previous direction rather learn from it and do better.
Lastly
Seriously, who wouldn't want to live in space, and explore space as a separate nation. Not limited to the limits of financial allocation for space travel. With all new adventures come dangers, but so are the risks of walking outside your home to be struck by a meteor.
