With business and cash!
I've had two attempts at business's in my life so far; sadly neither have taken. The good news, for me anyway, is that it's something like 9/10 business's fail so I've only got 8 more ideas to try before one takes. So naturally I am curious.
How are we to assess the Asgardian market place?
Theoretically we have a global reach, with all the pro's and con's that brings. We netizens all seem to have some access to internet, so digital services and products seem like they might be a good start for an idea. We also have a rough idea about the break down of Asgardian demographics (mostly male and in ?20-50? age spread).
But while that might give us a starting point, how do we take what we know and turn that into a business idea, and more importantly something that earns us, and therefore our nation, some shiny gold coins?
Well, firstly, how many of us can actually create something digital? Like an app, a website, store front, etc.
Business Idea Numero Un: App and Coding Classes
For those of you who do have the talents, time, and a camera, teaching might be a good way to start a small business. One pro is that one lesson recorded can be seen by many paying customers; one con might be depending on the software you’re teaching, updates might make your original video’s antiquated.
There are services like this already (Coursera, Udemy, etc), and the price points vary, but for the entrepreneur with gumption, who knows? Maybe the pitch isn’t in the teaching, but the creation of a service for teachers? Let your ideas run wild!
So now that our netizens are able to build a digital product/platform, what on earth are we going to sell? Are the rest of our own the only target audience? If the HON want’s 2-5% of earth’s population, well our eventual million dollar company might find that too limiting! So how do we understand ever changing global and local markets?
Business Idea Numero Duo: Analytics and Research
Ok, so this one really does take advantage of netizens and the global sampling that we have. Today, collecting data and the services of analyzing big data is actually a booming market place already. Think Google and Amazon. Now, while your company may get that large, there’s still plenty of entry room for niche markets. Perhaps like information on individuals interested in all things space?
Chances are if you work with data like this already, you’re smarter than me, so I’ll let you figure out the details. But that kind of data for us entrepreneurs within Asgardia, will be key to levelling up our customer satisfaction.
Well, we’ve got our skills to put together a digital product, which is a thought out product thanks to all the available research, and a playground that not just netizens can get to. Wait ..... is there a playground we can get the world to play on?
Business Idea Numero Tres: A Digital Market
Sure there are lot’s of platforms out there to sell your stuff on, (Amazon and Alibaba) and specialty markets for those niche products (Google Play, ShutterStock, etc.), but why not create a market place for fellow Asgardians? Something to host sellers and drive buyers? Perhaps open it to sellers globally?
Ok, so the more I think on it, maybe this should be a government service. Drive revenue within Agardia and, who knows, maybe one day build a global delivery service?
I suppose that every idea I have submitted so far could be government driven. The problem is that government driven means pay-cheques or work done, and we don’t have that kind of income as a nation; yet. For the moment, what we make is in our own hands, and I for one look forward to seeing what you create.
