I would suggest to have the subscribe function automatic triggered when you make a reply the first time on a post and with that also creating a new own post. For a little more convenience to use the forum.

In the current state you don't get notifications or something when someone else writes on a from you replied thread, (?) unless you click subscribe and accept the subscription. So you have to subscribe to the thread that you can find it again and stay updated.
