Civic.Asgardia, the Administrative arm of Asgardia: the Space Nation, announces its April, 2017 recruiting drive for volunteer staff members.

We are actively seeking help for the following roles. Brief overview of positions follows. Position descriptions, organizational structure and details about our training steps are linked below.

1. Social Media Specialists (Moderators)
2. National Chapter Advocates
3. National Chapter Assistant Advocates

The current recruiting period ends 15 April 2017.

All positions receive training. Volunteers are encouraged to work with us long-term for at least six-months. Scheduling is flexible to work around daily life. The daily time commitment varies by position, typically 1-2 hours/day for moderation duties and basic advocate work.

Each position needs people who possess fluency in both the English Language as well as local language fluency, who have experience using Facebook groups/pages and other discussion forums, and who can maintain a calm, professional, diplomatic manner when confronted with debate. Get ready to multitask and work well within a global team. Reliability and communication are needed.

Social Media Specialists (Moderators)

The need for balanced moderation continues. There are over 100 areas across several social media platforms which need to be monitored and supervised. Moderation staff does more than enforce rules. They are also content creators who start lively, creative discussions and help the group stay engaged. Training period includes a series of steps to develop proficiency with moderation skills, such as active engagement, application of our Code of Conduct, and regular observation of discussion threads. There will be an application process and an interview. This is a long-term volunteer position that will work closely with Civic.Asgardia and Asgardia’s Community Chapters. We hope to work with our staff for months to come.

National Chapter Advocates and Assistant Advocates

We work directly with our members through our Community Chapters. In the future, there will be member groups in many cities around the globe. For now, we begin with National Chapters in countries that have a significant population of Asgardians.

Each National Chapter is led by an Advocate who coordinates the staff and resources of that organization, serving as a single point-of-contact for an Asgardia Chapter. The Advocate works with the Assistant Advocates to create an active, engaging, and informative presence that connects local members with the global Asgardia community and which promotes the mission of NGO Asgardia.

All staff of National Chapters are expected to manage the social media presence for their group, helping to moderate Forums, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and other media platforms. Asgardia orientation training and moderation training are provided.

Many National Chapters have yet to be formed, but these existing chapters need additional staff.

Development of the ambience on Earth to lower cost of access to outer space, through different projects, new and ongoing by involving companies, organizations and governments.

Proposed first projects:

1. PPDE - "Plasma Pulse Detonation Engine" for lowering cost of airplane traffic and access to outer space

3. Serbian Space Agency - KAS - initiative to form it with a support of several professors from University of Belgrade - Faculty of Mechanical Engineereng, so state could support projects above

The current process is that Lena De Winne decides by her own personal judgement whether an Asgardia may petition the Head of Nation.  There is no review process.  There is no appeal process.  There is no policy for issuing responses or explanations for why a petition is hidden from Dr. Ashurbeyli rather than being disclosed.

How do you feel about this policy?  Do you believe Asgardians should have the right to speak with our Head of Nation?

Short introduction:

Good day to all, brothers and sisters! I dreamed of space since childhood, loved to look at the stars, especially in the winter, when most of the clear sky. Reviewed all the films about space, which is only possible. Became interested in religion, spirituality, philosophy, martial arts. All these areas are directly related to outer space and to each other. Always fought for goodness and justice, the peaceful resolution of any issues. Always tried to unite any team, not dividing it into groups, strata and belonging to any gender. Tried to do something that would be a little bit, but the world has become better. For me, the important Man himself, not his belonging to any class, not his rank, grade, rank, or skin color, not what language he speaks. In each of us there is a part of God, a part of the cosmos. We all, initially-are United! Some people just forgot about it. Recently, watching the news about space, the Internet saw that a new nation, the Space nation, with an excellent name – Asgardia. Without any thought and with great joy he joined the ranks of the future great Cosmic Nation. I am sure that this will be the case and I will take part in it in every possible way. I am proud that now I am a part of the 1st space nation, I am Asgardians! And ready to serve for the good of society. Respecting the Constitution and the law.

My platform:

Promotion directions for creating a free education and training narrow focus: medicine, science, robotics, engineering design direction and other Free medical services and the establishment of "Institute of health" Asgardia. I understand that in the first year it will not be easy to implement, since the financial component of Asgardia is still being formed. But I will make all efforts, together with other deputies to carry out these plans.

The organization of the team to implement the project "creating a single, powerful libraries of knowledge" to which you will have access to every Asgardians. At the first stage-online.

Creation of the "Institute of moral education of young minds", from the point of view: - " Every Person is a personality, a unique cell of society, but we, all together - one Whole, one Family, one World, one universe!"I believe that the family is a very important unit of society. And I will do everything to ensure that we become one Big family!

In the future, when the financial stability of Asgardia, plan the engineering and design teams in development of spacecraft and orbital stations, which have long been engaged in himself. But, as the saying goes: - " One in the field is not a warrior." I think many will agree that this should be done now. The population of the Earth is growing, orbital space is littered with space debris. Therefore, in any case, we need ships, not only for cleaning up orbital space, but also for space exploration. Travel to other planets.

I will promote the creation of the" Scientific and technical center " of Asgardia, so that the best minds of our country could work in it. To carry out development not only to improve the Earth's life, but also for the development of life in the near and distant space.

A little bit about yourself:

I have a wide experience of the teacher (work at school, Institute, private training, circles). I am engaged in design, 3D-modeling, designing, teaching three-dimensional vision of space. Creation of virtual spaceships, missiles, bases, as well as their reduced prototypes (from improvised material). In my head a lot of different projects. There is also a small management experience (project management and links organizations to the management of stores). Quite well know computers and technology associated with them. Raising three children. I am a supporter of a healthy lifestyle.

I agree with and support many candidates and parliamentarians. We are all equal! We're all one! Let's build a new hope! Create a prosperous space nation! Where everyone can contribute to the development of our common world! Peace on Earth and in Space. Небольшое вступление:

Доброго времени суток всем, братья и сестры! Я мечтал о космосе еще с детства, любил смотреть на звезды, особенно в зимнее время, когда чаще всего чистое небо. Пересмотрел все фильмы про космос, какие только возможно. Увлекся религией, эзотерикой, философией, единоборствами. Все эти направления непосредственно связаны с космосом и между собой. Всегда боролся за доброту и справедливость, мирное решение любых вопросов. Всегда старался сплотить любой коллектив, не деля его на группы, слои и принадлежность к какому-либо полу. Старался делать что-то, что б хоть немного, но мир стал лучше. Для меня важен сам Человек, а не его принадлежность к какому-либо сословию, не его звание, ранг, чин или цвет кожи, не то - на каком языке он говорит. В каждом из нас есть частичка Бога, частичка космоса. Мы все, изначально - едины! Просто некоторые об этом забыли. Недавно, смотря новости про космос, в интернете увидел, что формируется новая нация, Космическая нация, с отличным именем – Асгардия. Без какого-либо раздумья и с великой радостью вступил в ряды будущей Великой Космической Нации. Я уверен, что именно так и будет, всячески буду принимать в этом участие. Я горд тем, что теперь являюсь частичкой 1-й космической нации, являюсь Асгардианцем! И готов служить на благо общества. Соблюдая конституцию и законопорядок.

Моя платформа:

Продвижение направления по созданию бесплатного образования и подготовки специалистов узкой направленности: медицина, наука, робототехника, инженерно-конструкторское направление и др. Бесплатного медицинского обслуживания и создания «Института здравоохранения» Асгардии. Понимаю, что в первый год это будет не просто осуществить, так как еще формируется финансовая составляющая Асгардии. Но приложу все усилия, совместно с другими депутатами, чтобы осуществить эти планы.

Организация команды для реализации проекта «создания единой, мощной библиотеки знаний», к которой будет иметь доступ каждый Асгардианец. На первом этапе – в онлайн режиме.

Создание «института нравственного воспитания юных умов», с точки зрения: - "Каждый Человек - это личность, неповторимая ячейка общества, но мы, все вместе - одно Целое, одна Семья, один Мир, одна Вселенная!" Считаю, что семья – это очень важная ячейка общества. И буду делать все, для того, чтобы мы стали – одной Большой семьей!

В дальнейшем, при финансовой стабилизации Асгардии, планирую создание инженерно-конструкторской команды по разработкам космических кораблей и орбитальных станций, которыми давно уже занимаюсь сам. Но, как говорится: - «Один в поле не воин». Думаю, многие согласятся, что этим нужно заниматься уже сейчас. Население Земли растет, орбитальное пространство засорено космическим мусором. Поэтому, в любом случае нам нужны корабли, не только для очистки орбитального пространства, но и для исследования космоса. Путешествия к другим планетам.

Буду продвигать создание «Научно-технического центра» Асгардии, что бы в нем могли работать лучшие умы нашей страны. Чтобы проводить разработки не только для улучшения Земной жизни, но и для возможности развития жизни в ближнем и дальнем космосе.

Немного о себе:

Имею большой опыт преподавателя (работа в школе, институте, частное обучение, кружки). Занимаюсь дизайном, 3 D -моделированием, проектированием, обучением трехмерному видению пространства. Созданием виртуальных космических кораблей, ракет, баз, а также их уменьшенных прототипов (из подручного материала). В голове очень много различных проектов. Также имеется не малый управленческий опыт (от управления проектами и звеньями организаций – до управления магазинами). Достаточно хорошо знаю компьютеры и технику связанную с ними. Воспитываю трех детей. Являюсь сторонником здорового образа жизни.

Согласен с многими кандидатами, парламентерами и поддерживаю их. Мы все равны! Мы все - одно целое! Построим новую надежду! Создадим процветающую космическую нацию! Где каждый Человек может сделать свой вклад в развитие нашего, единого мира! Мира на Земле и в Космосе. Hello Asgardians!

Some of you may remember there was a discussion a while ago about Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

We are currently looking for community feedback, that way we can make sure it suits the needs of our nation!

I will be opening this up for discussion for one month from todays date. This post will be locked on 6th May 2017, and suggestions will be compiled. Things to start thinking about:

1. What do you believe constitutes a MOOC
2. What will the end result look like?
3. How will it benefit the community of Asgardia?
4. When/how are we going to develop this?
5. Why do you believe this is being done?
6. How will it be different from the other Online/free courses available today?
7. How will it be run?
8. Will there be different levels of learning? i.e. grade school vs university/college
9. Will it be free, or should there be a subscription per month/year that allows unlimited courses?
10. What types of programs can we provide? Will it be purely scientific, or is there room for the development of arts, music, theology, marketing programs?
11. Is there a possibility for a mentorship program

Hello Asgardia,

For those of you who may not know me, I am the Head of Community Affairs for Asgardia. I have been overseeing the social media and volunteer teams for Asgardia for the last year. Recently, I was given the mandate to help in the process of increasing Asgardia's image to the greater public and bring in fresh ideas and services to the Asgardia community. I wanted to update you on what has been and is still in progress to work towards these goals.

Firstly was to restructure parts of Civic Asgardia and the volunteer teams to help with the new direction. The first emphasis was to offer support administrative wise to the Central Election Committee. "Nikari" Steve Miller was loaned out as Elections Manager and volunteer teams were brought on board to help with the final weeks of the elections to offer logistical support. Seondly was to bring up email and social media response time to help public and community questions. Third was to begin applying best practices to the volunteer intake and training process in order to start better caplitalising on existing and new volunteer skillsets. Finally, several projects were planned on new online presences for Asgardia to bring information and new services to the nation as well as add greater communication and transparency of Asgardia actions.

One of the first projects that we worked on was the new Asgardia Space News website in which Asgardia endeavors to bring news about Space, Technology, Science, Engineering, and related topics of interest. This site will be going through some evolutions in the coming weeks, firstly to launch translations of the articles into the other twelve languages of Asgardia starting with Spanish and then to the others once the process is smoothed out and we have reliable and accurate translators for the other languages. We are looking at new avenues for content for the website and to slowly work away from syndication of news to producing our own original news stories. We hope that the community will visit this site, comment on articles and continue to give us feedback on the type of content that you would like to see on this site.

Another project that is nearing completion is a unified web contact form. This form will be attached the the new websites and will be adapted for use on the existing Asgardia.space website. This contact form is to allow the community and public easier access to support avenues so that we can help them better with any issues they have and answer their questions in a more timely manner.

Also, there was the creation of an opt-in monthly newsletter. This newsletter will allow us to communicate closer with the community and keep them 'in the loop' on Asgardia news and events.

Our biggest project, however, is still currently in progress and we hope to launch in part after the elections are over. It is a new Asgardia community site, a 'home' for Asgardia where Community and Business based services and functions will be offered. We will be launching an online roadmap for this site which will be publically viewable and updated regularly with progress of this site. To give you an example of the services that will be offered on this site are:

- The Asgardia Business Center. A multiphase project that will allow businesses of all sizes to connect with consumers, allow for start up and charity funding initiatives, job boards for businesses to recruit talent, mentorship opportunities, and incubator projects.

- Asgardia Community Activity and News. Listings for Professional Asgardia Associations, professional and interest guilds and clubs.

- National Community Center activities and news from Asgardia centers around the world.

- Online resource library for scientific papers and other open resource literature.

- All ages Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), a resource to offer education for all Asgardians no matter the age they may be. Eventual plan is to partner with accredited institutions in order to offer high level accredited courses.

- Asgardia Publication House which would offer online and hardcopy versions of written materials created by Asgardians.

- Asgardia merchandise store so that Asgardians can buy official Asgardia branded items to show their Asgardia pride.

- New and improved forums and online collaborative tools to allow Asgardians to communicate and work more closely together.

... and many more services that will help bring our community together and show the world what we have to offer as a nation.

I plan on having discussions with members of Parliament and with the Ministries about this site and how it can work in concert with the future laws and projects yet to come.

I would like to thank everyone who has already stepped up and offered their help and expertise in getting these endeavors off of the ground. We still have a lot of work ahead of us but I know that if we all (Volunteers, community members, MP's, Ministers) work together we can show the world that Asgardia is a leader to the stars and show that what we bring can benefit all of humankind.
