Education will be a corner stone to our society, let us make it available to all, free to all of our society. An Asgardia university should be established, where we can develop our societys natural resources, our people, pushing research and new technologies and insuring our people are the best and brightest.

Hello Asgardians. I'm surprised with the lack of communication here, so I thought I'd start a conversation by saying hello and introducing myself.

I'm Matthew, I live near Oxford, England. I work at the University of Oxford as a Research Software Engineer (aka "Code Monkey"!).

I'd like to see this Asgardia experiment have a positive attitude on how we perceive our fellow humans wherever they may live.

What do you do? And why are you here?

可能是因为我没写英文版吧，算了，我也懒得写，毕竟议会里面不会有我的事情，我还不愿意当官僚，最重要的是四十岁以上的中国人居然没有！ 难受。。。。

今天发表了选举宣言，不知道未来这个所谓国家会有什么国家利益和国家认同，我认为这个所谓国家不过是平民之间的一种政治讨论办法罢了，毕竟这个“国家”没有强制某个公民执行法令的能力

希望未来我们开发其它星球的时候，可以通过这种方式来保护和平衡不同种族不同文化背景之间平民的权益，对于未来来说，我们可是全球平民政治协商的先驱呢∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

I just wanted to share a thought with all my fellow Asgardians.

Equality.

On Asgardia there should be social, political and economic equality of the sexes.

It is so hard to achieve it here because no one is used to it, but if we could built a place where male and female are treated the same way, it is going to be something normal for everyone.

No more fights, no moro protests, we can all just live peacefully together.

I also think that being gay, lesbian, transgender etc. should be seen as a normal thing, it is again something hard to achieve here but new nation, new rules.

Everyone should be able to be who she/he wants to be and not be afraid to show it.

What is really out there waiting for us, what can be discovered? We need are in a new space race ... but there are a few things we need to be successful.

We are limited by resources and tools, we have the capability of contracting to various governments and in so doing the beginning of our trading.

We need to work as a team to cross obstacles, risks will need to be taken.

We are at the dawning of a new age .... People are looking at the skies and wonder when they will be available to all people....

I know I don't post much but I am paying attention to what is happening in Asgardia and I'm happy with the progress so far tho wishing it went faster but let's keep up this pase cos it's working, also I watched the launch of Cygnus and was so happy when it finally made its liftoff on that Sunday hopes go out to Asgardia for a clean setup of Asgardia 1 😊

Igor Raufovich Ashurbeyli (Azerbaijani: İqor Rauf oğlu Aşurbəyli;, Russian: Игорь Рауфович Ашурбейли; born 9 September 1963, Baku, Azerbaijan) is a Russian-Azerbaijani scientist, businessman and benefactor. He was the CEO of Scientific Production Association (SPA) Almaz from 2000 to 2011. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Socium Holding. He has a Doctorate of Science in Engineering. He has a PhD in Engineering, with a specialization in Computer Science. He is the creator of the proposed 'space nation' of Asgardia.

Ashurbeyli was born on 9 September 1963, in Baku, Azerbaijan, a descendant of the Azerbaijani noble family of Ashurbeyov. He graduated from the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in 1985. He then founded the Socium, which later became Socium Holding, in 1988. In 1990 Ashurbeyli moved to Moscow. He held the positions of Deputy General Manager, First Deputy General Manager, and Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at SPA Almaz (later rebranded as GSKB Almaz-Antey) starting from 1994. From 2000 to 2011, Ashurbeyli was the CEO of SPA Almaz (because SPA Almaz was rebranded as the OJSC State Special Design Bureau Almaz-Antey, the Russian abbreviation of this company, GSKB Almaz –Antey is frequently confused with JSC Concern Almaz-Antey). From 2004, he was the Chairman of the Board of the Nonprofit Non-Government Expert Society on Space Threat Defense (ESSTD). In 2014, ESSTD was granted special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). He was awarded Russia’s State Science and Technology Prize in 2010.[1] Ashurbeyli resigned from SPA Almaz in 2011. From 2011, he was the Chairman of the Board and Scientific Supervisor of KB-1 (Design Bureau -1), a privately held company, and Chairman of the Board and Owner of Socium Holding. He founded the Aerospace International Research Center (AIRC) in Vienna, Austria, in 2013. In 2014, AIRC began publication of an international space journal, ROOM, of which Ashurbeyli is the editor-in-chief. On February 5, 2016, Ashurbeyli was awarded the UNESCO Medal for contributions to the development of nanoscience and nanotechnologies during a ceremony held at UNESCO headquarters, Paris.

On 12 October 2016, Ashurbeyli announced in a press conference in Paris "The birth of the new space nation Asgardia" in an opening speech. From 20 January 2017, supported by more than 150,000 members, Igor Ashurbeyli took up the position of Head of Nation.

What is microgravity, how effect the body?

Microgravity is the condition in which people or objects appear to be weightless. The effects of microgravity can be seen when astronauts and objects float in space. Microgravity can be experienced in other ways, as well. "Micro-" means "very small," so microgravity refers to the condition where gravity seems to be very small. In microgravity, astronauts can float in their spacecraft - or outside, on a spacewalk. Heavy objects move around easily. For example, astronauts can move equipment weighing hundreds of pounds with their fingertips. Microgravity is sometimes called "zero gravity," but this is misleading.

Is There Gravity in Space?

Gravity causes every object to pull every other object toward it. Some people think that there is no gravity in space. In fact, a small amount of gravity can be found everywhere in space. Gravity is what holds the moon in orbit around Earth. Gravity causes Earth to orbit the sun. It keeps the sun in place in the Milky Way galaxy. Gravity, however, does become weaker with distance. It is possible for a spacecraft to go far enough from Earth that a person inside would feel very little gravity. But this is not why things float on a spacecraft in orbit. The International Space Station orbits Earth at an altitude between 200 and 250 miles. At that altitude, Earth's gravity is about 90 percent of what it is on the planet's surface. In other words, if a person who weighed 100 pounds on Earth's surface could climb a ladder all the way to the space station, that person would weigh 90 pounds at the top of the ladder.

Why Do Objects Float in Orbit?

If 90 percent of Earth's gravity reaches the space station, then why do astronauts float there? The answer is because they are in free fall. In a vacuum, gravity causes all objects to fall at the same rate. The mass of the object does not matter. If a person drops a hammer and a feather, air will make the feather fall more slowly. But if there were no air, they would fall at the same acceleration. Some amusement parks have free-fall rides, in which a cabin is dropped along a tall tower. If a person let go of an object at the beginning of the fall, the person and the object would fall at the same acceleration. Because of that, the object would appear to float in front of the person. That is what happens in a spacecraft. The spacecraft, its crew and any objects aboard are all falling toward but around Earth. Since they are all falling together, the crew and objects appear to float when compared with the spacecraft.

How Can Spacecraft Fall Around Earth?

What does it mean to fall around Earth? Earth's gravity pulls objects downward toward the surface. Gravity pulls on the space station, too. As a result, it is constantly falling toward Earth's surface. It also is moving at a very fast speed - 17,500 miles per hour. It moves at a speed that matches the way Earth's surface curves. If a person throws a baseball, gravity will cause it to curve down. It will hit the ground fairly quickly. An orbiting spacecraft moves at the right speed so the curve of its fall matches the curve of Earth. Because of this, the spacecraft keeps falling toward the ground but never hits it. As a result, they fall around the planet. The moon stays in orbit around Earth for this same reason. The moon also is falling around Earth.

Why Does NASA Study Microgravity?

NASA studies microgravity to learn what happens to people and equipment in space. Microgravity affects the human body in several ways. For example, muscles and bones can become weaker without gravity making them work as hard. Astronauts who live on the space station spend months in microgravity. Astronauts who travel to Mars also would spend months in microgravity traveling to and from the Red Planet. NASA must learn about the effects of microgravity to keep astronauts safe and healthy. In addition, many things seem to act differently in microgravity. Fire burns differently. Without the pull of gravity, flames are more round. Crystals grow better. Without gravity, their shapes are more perfect. NASA performs science experiments in microgravity. These experiments help NASA learn things that would be hard or perhaps impossible to learn on Earth.

Can Microgravity Be Found on Earth?

For the same reason microgravity exists in orbit, it can also be found on Earth. NASA uses airplanes to create microgravity for short periods of time. The airplane does this by flying in up-and-down parabolas. At the top of the parabola, people and objects inside the airplane are in free fall for about 20-30 seconds at a time. For the same reasons, a person can even experience free fall very briefly going over a large hill, like on a roller coaster. Microgravity also can be experienced in amusement park free-fall rides. NASA also uses drop towers to study microgravity. Objects are dropped using special equipment from the top of these tall towers, experiencing free fall as they drop

The idea of a heaven has fascinated the greatest minds for as long as humans existed. A perfect world with no conflict, technologically advanced and with humanity striving towards peace and unification. The closest thing we have ever had to dream was Atlantis, but now we have this. The concept of Asgardia was not something I thought I would envision in my lifetime. And not something many others around me  could comprehend. But it is a glorious idea and a modern day atlantis, not unlike the city of Asgard created in Thor. With regards to the franchise, it is worth noting Oden's last few words to his son, 'Asgard is not a place, it is a people.' I think we should think of Asgardia in the same way. Whilst we are bound on earth we are the people whom represent the desire for peace and to be free from prosecution. And even if for a minute, we were able to live on a futuristic space station we could only dream about, it is worth remembering we are the notion of Asgardia and we are the peace and unity. It is not the place around us or the place we remove ourselves from. Simply, it is the mindset we choose to follow.

If you ever wanted to be a representative of the people, now is the time.

I was a youth parliamentarian twice because I wanted to be an elected representative. It was a disheartening experience. Rather than using the platform that we had to show the established politicians how political debate need not be showboating and insults, I was dismayed to see many of my peers doing exactly that. I have vivid memories of our "party" leaders in their oversized suits, doing theatrical belly laughs as they took cheap shots at their opponents.

Not that I blame them for having misfitted suits. I had also borrowed my suit from a relative because I didn't have one of my own. But in that environment the suits seemed to highlight the attitude that was present: parliamentary debate was a dress-up game, where winning was the only result that mattered.

I’m an optimist. It’s harder work than being cynical, but its worth it. Asgardia is an inspiration to rethink the ideas that have defeated us before and try again - not just as individuals, but as a society.
