I also agree with Beodel in everything. Right now I'm looking for a new opportunities, and also new work, in a field of my interests (biophysics, artificial organs, cybernetics prosthesis, genetics etc.), because in my own country I don't see any future for myself. I'm recently finished my previous project (in molecular biophysics of the cell) and got PhD degree, I think that's not bad for the beginning =) Now I'm helping Asgardia as a translator (can help you with translation between english, russian and ukranian, or study this languages). I hope that I can be also useful as a scientist.

I don't think that's a bad greetting to new comers or people who aren't asgardia in anyway but we need a good salutation which I'm aware of the contest but I didn't see any good ones well 1 but little much for a unity peace nation. Me I think either arm with a fist diagonal to your torso and your hand should be close to your shoulder the other hand off the side unless holding something. Some Asgardians do not understand that Asgardia, at the present time, is the e pluribus unum of the world. We should not depart from the original conception of our founder, Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli. First we must understand that Asgardians are citizens of different countries, with different languages and cultural values, pioneers in helping to establish the principles and vision of our founder. We have the task of developing a worldwide community, working closely with the corresponding embassies, to ensure that the principles and ideals of Asgardia are maintained and continued for future generations of Asgardians until Asgardia becomes a physical reality in outer space.

"I think there may be some confusion here!" There's always been confusion and this misunderstanding. No one reads what this is about, refuses to accept what this is, skips ahead in lightyears. Hello! I think there may be some confusion here! There is a plan to place an unmanned satellite into orbit at the end of this year, however people is a different matter for some time. Asgardia is a long-term project and currently there are no plans to go to space. The emphasis, for now, is to create a nation with a strong foundation upon which everything else can be built.

Thanks for your observation, Jason Rainbow. Perhaps I should begin deleting the word "Elio" and substitute it for the word "The". That action may help clearing the confusion. It will only read "The Village Forum". What it really means is that it is an open forum where Asgardians of North America can express their thoughts on any topic. I welcome any suggestion you may offer if further clarification is necessary.

The main focus presently should be on creating a stable foundation upon which we can build these "possible" future projects. The VILLAGE is where Asgardians live in their homeland. Most Asgardians are being distracted with the idea of a space-nation when they should be also concerned about social justice in their country. Yes, Asgardia could be the opportunity of establishing a real e pluribus unum of the world, but in order to do so, all Asgardians must commit themselves with ideals and principles of non-violence, non-aggression, non-intervention in the internal affairs of other sovereign states, non-xenophobic of other groups, non-racist, non-attitude of superior or national exceptionalism. Philo7, in general, we will only allow the discussion of person projects on the condition that it is made *perfectly* clear to all members that it is a personal project / idea that you are working on, and that you are posting in the Asgardia forum looking for assistance. At present, as has been stated by moderators and administrators in this and other posts by you, Asgardia has NO plans for a ground based community.

I continue in the communication world as a business development representative in the fields of agronomy and horticulture. It has been my perception that there is a distinct lack of a guiding hand in this movement. I understand that Dr. Ashurbeyli currently works in the aerospace field and is working on this project on the side. Due to politics in my native country I have been spurred on to pursue this project in earnest and would like to help in kind. I would like to propose an introduction of sorts for the current leadership. This would be comprised of a bio of each member working in official capacity for the project including details such as native language, second language, current profession, current role, how you came into this position, why you were motivated to join this project, and what the immediate goals or next steps are for the person being interviewed in regards to their operational capacity.       I'm in a unique position, given my current work obligations, that allows me to be available to perform such interviews at times that are comfortable for the recipient. I believe I can complete these brief interviews in 15-30 minutes by voice, video chat, or email. I feel that this project would help clarify some details for the many individuals that are interested in Asgardia. I think the next step forward is to begin learning how to communicate as an organization removing some of the general buzz or fog that currently makes up the organization. This would in turn be a great opportunity to organize the translator volunteers to deliver finished approved pieces for the administration to publish as they see fit. I totally agree with you. Just like all country's have ports for ships to bring in trade. If you are going to have to be anchored in their bay you have to pay anchorage fees then when you finally dock you have to pay docking fees. If there are problems getting your cargo off then you tied up to the dock longer you will pay more fees. If your an ocean going tub boat towing a large barge then you may be required to hire a local tugboat to help dock your barge safely. That's more cost. Of course if we have our own space stations with the capability act like a port with a dock then yes we could charge all those fees too. Plus once we are out in space I imagine that they will be able to claim an area that in a close distance from the station is theirs an will be able to charge anchorage fees.

Being a sailor, it is correct that every nation charges a fee to visit. Most travellers don't notice this because it is usually included with the price of an airline ticket. A perfectly legitimate method of revenue collection. Trouble is, we have to have some borders to cross to start with. :-). In time and when we do - I agree.

There's also GPG - same thing, pretty much, but GNU. Not entirely new, decades old. Personally, I'd be using X.509 to secure communications and or provide for authenticity. PGP/GPG is good for additionally signing posts, however. For example, I already use per-client X.509 certificates to authenticate to and provide unique encrpytion for my VPN. Attention can be roused, that's not going to mean a great deal overall. Ultimately the easiest way to circumvent it would be to sign up and scrape the public content - it's going to massivley be a waste of their efforts as we should be of no interest or doing anything of any concern to them - they want to waste their limited resources then they are welcome. It needs to be encrypted to ensure privacy, not just from hostile foreign .gov and it also makes it a lot harder to mess with it en-route... You don't know what to change, where, and attempts will prevent it from decrypting. Encryption really doesn't add that much overheads. I can layer up and bounce three times around the globe with only adding about 150 or so ms onto a round trip, which is about as good as native 3G in mid to poor reception. The width remains as wide as my host - thanks to compression, actually wider. DNS poisoning only really impacts people who have no clue - so most of them - There's ways and means round this, mostly involving using another service - like using google's DNS services - or some proxy service to make lookups for you. Setting up your own inside a filtered zone wouldn't get the "missing" lookups, outside the net would work but if they was doing it properly, then that'd be isolated. Not by IP, the very lookup response itself will be rewritten as it moves thorugh. Then they can push you wherever they want. Things like DNSCrypt can actually encrypt the lookups themselves, making them hard to filter. "Better" than a namesever as easily isolated as the lookups prevented, would be to deploy OpenVPN, due to the bandwidth consumption of an entire nation, I'd sugest restricting it's scope to that of the Asgardian services. DNS then isn't required and could be local to that tunnel, which will "bypass" the interwebs and the local user's ISP.

Has anybody heard of PGP? It is a double ended PKE system that is available for all OSs. This allows each user to contain their private keys and we could have Asguardia,space hold the directory of public keys for lookup. A set of instructions would be needed for users to add/edit their entries (possibly keyed to their Asguardia ID) with their public keys. The level of encryption is likely to arouse attention from various authorities. Next question is why is the data needed to be encrypted. It does have a burden on overall throughput. Emails & files are easily encrypted and passed along with existing technologies. Getting past snooping or man in the middle issues requires more than trust in the existing CAs such as double encryption. A current trend worldwide is DNS poisioning by various governments for specific sites they do not wish their population to visit. Changing the client DNS settings to Googles can by-pass that but won't last forever. Setting up your own caching name server also solves this issue but would be beyond most people. I would suggest Arcadia setup a caching name server and make it known within the forum. This would allow the by-passing of any nations DNS issues except the banning of specific IP addresses. Food for thought.
