I'm retired, currently spending much of my time developing my skills as amateur musician (I play guitar and sing), and an amateur sound engineer (live performances and home studio recording). I volunteer in my community, helping out with the local Retired and Senior Volunteers Program. I'm an avid futurist, interested in many broad topics, including the technical and social aspects of how our world is evolving, and the many complex interactions among past, current and future trends. I try to keep up with trends in science and technology, focusing largely on physics and cosmology, and the development of commercial space systems.

Prior to retirement, I focused on autonomous systems, including applications to both ground and space systems. I also worked closely with advanced concept development organizations. Prior to that, I spent about 15 years working with various kinds of artificial intelligence, knowledge representation, model-based reasoning, genetic algorithms, complex systems, and image processing. Earlier in my career, I was involved in developing applications and tools related to computer graphics, data management, programming languages, operating systems, and integration and diagnosis specialized hardware subsystems.

Before I have believed that the realization of a space station was farfetched or at least beyond my lifetime. But mankind continues to make a clear statement that human potential has no bounds. That through a community of unified creative minds there is no end to what we can accomplish. I am proud to join the existing community of Asgardian members and hope to see great things in the near future to come.

I have many interests in the world. Lately, I have been following Monsanto and its failure to keep us and our planet in mind. So many things are connected to Monsanto. Our food, water, animals, air, and politics. Despite the lawsuits, stores are refusing to take items off the shelves even though there is research backing up the lawsuits. Then there is the plastic issue. I saw first hand what plastic does to our oceans while on a class trip in college to the Bahamas. Beaches were covered in trash including nets and oil. It is to the point that we have beaches that are literally being made of plastic or covered in oil. This plastic is being eaten into the food chain and unto our dinner plates. I don't know about other countries in the world, but I know that the U.S. has failed its people regarding health. We don't always know where our food comes from and healthy food is so expensive compared to cheaper made food. This cheap food often contains chemicals from entities such as Monsanto and even has plastic particles in it. Sadly, the government run food stamp program has allowed these foods to be bought and consumed. Farmers can no longer say that they know what is in the food due to pesticides being able to go to other crops on the wind. Finding healthy food is becoming a challenge especially on a certain income. People can't plant gardens like they use to and everything is in favor of corporate farms.

I became an Asgardian hoping to help the world in some way, even if it is small. I know that some day all peoples will see and know the truth about our food and water problems and can turn the tide on this political health warfare.

Hello all, I am glad to be a part of this unique endeavor. For today I plan on reading all the literature that this website has available.

As an end point I have always wanted to go to outer space and explore all the fascinating things to experiment and see. for the past couple of days I have been watching the 2016 MARS series from NatGeo channel. I've been out of the loop on a lot of my sci-fi stuff and cannot wait to get both proverbial oars back in the galactic waters. I have also been thinking about doing experiments on making martian soil to test on plants.

This is just a personal belief of mine and I feel the need to share. Please, if you also feel the need to express your opinion as well, please do so below in the comment section!

I look around every day at what we, as humans, do on a daily basis. We wake up in the morning, we go to work and then come back home to our loved ones afterwards. Some of us are inventors, some of us are in the field of customer service or retail, some of us work construction and some of us work in graphic design. All of those are examples of what we as humans live our lives doing.

But, to what's to gain? Yes, you're working to provide for either yourself or your family. But, does that job/career help to advance human life?

My point is this. I believe that there are jobs and careers that are beneficial to humanity and there are those that aren't actually needed.

I've always had the thought and inquiry as to why the exploration of space wasn't a larger priority to most. The exploration of space could open up countless doors that would help humanity advance. Why isn't the question of WHY or HOW we came into being a larger focus than who's company has the better office chairs?

This is one of my larger questions in life. The focus of the human race is not devoted towards the betterment of humanity or to improve life for the next generation. It's prioritized towards who's car is the fastest or who's diamond ring shines the brightest.
