The flag is meant to depict Asgardia's ascension into the space frontier! The three background colors represent the three foundations from which Asgardia is based upon. Purple = science/technology, white = law, gold = philosophy. Asgardia itself is represented by the blue star. Blue represents freedom; and in this case, freedom from all limitations of Earth.
