The flag of Asgardia shows not only the momentary (or a future) emblem in the background but also a socalled Vegvisir. It's a symbol in the nordic mythology and can be compared with a compass. Whoever wears it will found his/her way. And it can be more than that. Who can tell, to what Asgardia will grow, where we will be in 100, 1000 or more years and what we will discover with our first interstellar journeys? What will humanity discover in science and tech? Whatever will happen, a Vegvisir will spend hope and confidence. The rune in the middle is an "A" and - well surprise - stands for Asgardia and every Asgardian citizen.

But also the colors have a meaning. Bordeaux represents the human blood (and with it our culture, knowledge, curiosity and life itself) that pushes the borders (white stripe) of our known universe (anthracite) further and further.

Imagine our spacecrafts discovering new stars and maybe new life forms and wherever we will be, the Vegvisir will protect us and the emblem of Asgardia represents mankind.
