Here, I have built on the design (#84) of Funda Alp
(from Turkey) whose flag is a blue disk against a black
background.

I have chosen to keep out coloured rectangles and straight
lines. This is because, in the flags of many earthbound
nations, these usually represent some artificial borders.
I have also kept out any symbol representing humans and
suggesting anthropocentric values.

The flag contains the following elements
* the Earth (as the large blue dot)
* its protective atmosphere (the white thin circle around it))
* its magnetic field shielding it from the deadly solar wind and
cosmic rays
and, in the upper-right corner,
* the stylized footprint of the first earth-born cosmonaut:
the female dog Laika.

So, in this representation, we have symbolized
* protecting planet Earth
* space exploration
* recognition of the value of all sentient life forms.

The flag can easily be recognized from afar, even though the
magnetic field lines will only become discernible at a closer
range.

Possible modifications:
* The blue Earth or the main part of the paw could contain
the Asgardia symbol.
* Instead of using field lines, the magnetic field could
be represented by cross sections of the van Allen belt,
acting as multiple pairs of parentheses cocooning the
Earth. They may, however, be confused with clouds of
space debris.
* Another possible modification would be to represent only
a portion of the Earth's surface and atmosphere (with its
curvature) as I have seen on many other flag designs. After
all, the flag is not intended to represent the whole Earth but
a nation orbiting the Earth.

I recognize that my design is not as artistically beautiful
as many of those already posted on this Web site. However,
I think it does represent ideas and values at the basis of
Asgardia. I hope others will improve on this.
