Colony collapse disorder is an issue among bees that leads to bee colonies spontaneously failing, without apparent cause or reason. More than 10 million beehives were lost in the six years leading up 2013, an unacceptable rate of loss; whilst worldwide this is perhaps 20%, in places like the US the rate of colony loss is around 50%.

Many mechanisms have been proposed for them, but none have gave a conclusive reason for colony collapse disorder and it has not been stopped. This remains a present risk to the livelihood of bees and could precipitate severe ecological problems if left unchecked.

My proposal for this is to create a documentary, a Space Bee Movie of sorts, investigating this issue, and well as investigations into charities that could effectively slow the rate of CCD, with the eventual goal of saving the bees.
