Some Technical Steps Towards Implementing a Global Resource Based Economy

"In this document I am NOT going to cover the visceral and radical social or political changes that might be required in order to get to this point where we might be able to start this process. That is a whole different issue altogether and will require a massive global values change. I am sort of working on a post that covers parts of this topic - the Disease of Separation. My policy page addresses a global values change on a fundamental level and is a great start towards this work.

This document will be just a broad overview of the technical steps needed. There are many, many more steps especially once start looking at each individual step and other requirements like pollution controls, ecological studies, etc. With each step we complete we are marching ever closer toward a more peaceful, happier, and efficient world where we can eliminate poverty and suffering."

The Kardashev Scale of Civilizations

The Kardashev Scale was proposed by Nikolai in his 1964 paper titled The Transmission of Information by Extraterrestrial Civilizations ( 5 pages long ) where he postulated that correlating a civilization’s technological advancement and population growth with the amount of energy they can harvest and consume. Knowing this helps us create a theory on how we could search for alien civilizations by their technological signatures derived from their potential methods of energy usage and harvesting.

My next post The Kardashev Scale of Civilizations is coming out on Friday (2019 Mar 22) and, as a part of that research, I have be gifted with discovering an awesomely educational YouTube channel titled Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur (SFIA) where he discusses so very many different technical topics dealing with primarily with the science of space and other related technologies. In my above mentioned Kardashev Scale post I reference quite a few of his videos to help people understand not only the Scale itself, but also to be introduced to other interesting related topics.

To start answering the questions posed in that Facebook thread you WILL want to read my two other Resource Based Economy posts once you have an idea as to what a RBE is:

• Productivity and Motivation in a Resource Based Economy? which actually answers quite a bit of this issue of motivation within a Resource Based Economy.
• You will also want to read my post which talks about How will a Resource Based Economy work? What will it look like? which also tackles some of these answers too.

Consider these 3 posts as required reading, because the info and ideas there will form the framework or even form the full answers for part of the questions asked. Because answering anything about a Resource Based Economy is never a straight line, this post will be rather long and will cross through various disciplines from psychology, economics, morality, and religion so buckle in for the interdisciplinary ride to talk about competition and human nature within the framework of a Resource Based Economy.

The Continuum of Socialism, an Explanation

I am writing this post to help people understand:

• * why there is so much confusion and such a strong aversion to the word Socialism today
• * why it is very, very misplaced
• * how we need to reframe the socialism conversation.
• Part of these problems are due to:
• * our massively broken education system
  * over a hundred years of governmental propaganda and continuously stoked fears
• 
  

There are technical definitions and then there is the more colloquial usage. I will cover both in this article just for completeness and to help relieve some of the confusion.

Continuum of Capitalism, an Explanation

For the purposes of this conversation, it does NOT matter who controls the industry or production whether its CEOs and managers or if the workers do. In either case, if the masses ( or Humanity in general ) does not benefit from that control or ownership, or the business or production, then the label of ownership bears no real use. What really matters, when it comes to economic systems, is who benefits the most from all economic matters. Ownership is merely a meta-detail between business and production and who benefits from it.
