And I have to say, it is very upsetting.  In short, the article exposes how these "geniuses" are creating neural networks to identify diseases and to automate driving -- among other things which will make you, human, obsolete.

They are finding that the neural networks are performing excessively well, the problem? The neural networks are so complex that researchers have no idea how they are learning and what the process behind AI decision-making from their unsupervised learning (I'm assuming it is unsupervised... ) actually is. I mean, holy c**p! Bro, if you don't know what you're doing, don't let it loose...  Which seems to be what they are doing.  This, coupled with that "terminator" thing being developed by Boston Dynamics...  I mean, I hate to be a pessimist, but...

How can we have such strong confidence in artificial intelligence when we don't even know what's happening under the hood.  Strange times ahead, folks.

This week, Asgardia’s parliament moves closer to passing key legislation and setting precedence as the most organized parliamentary systems in the world, working at every level of parliament. It also brought back Head of Administration of the Head of Nation Lena De Winne to attending the weekly meeting which ensures a closer relationship between parliament and the administration of Asgardia.

Chairman Parliament Lembit Öpik reported the results from the all-day leadership meeting in Dubai on Aquarius 24 / January 24 that he attended with Asgardia’s Head of Nation, Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli, and Lena De Winne. At the meeting, the Head of Nation was presented with all current pieces of legislation as well as the agenda for the upcoming digital sitting of parliament that will be held Aries 3 - 5, 0004 / February 28 - March 1, 2020. After review and discussion, Dr. Ashurbeyli expressed his support and appreciation of the work being conducted by the members of parliament.

The Chairman conducted a brief review of the timetable of the upcoming parliamentary digital sitting. The parliamentary coordination team was also reported to be working on adding a Turkish language translation channel to the formal meetings of parliament being held on the Zoom platform. The plan is to eventually have all 12 languages of Asgardia available to provide greater accessibility to all parliamentarians during the meetings.

It was formally reported the resignations of two members of parliament, Helena Aramendia, and Sergei Sergieiev. AMPs expressed their disappointment at losing two dedicated and valuable members of parliament but wished them well in their future endeavors. The contributions they made to the building of our nation will forever be appreciated and be a valuable part of the foundations of Asgardia.

The MPs discussed the freedom of speech and the exchange of opinions in Asgardia. All participants of the discussion agreed that this is one of the core values of Asgardia that everyone has the right to exercise. They also addressed how to further improve routines of collaboration between the independent branches of power within Asgardia.

MP Salvos Mouzakitis talked about licensing Asgardia trademarked symbols and name and how it might work. He and MP Ben Dell are working on a proposal with Ben Dell that they are hoping to have completed the next digital sitting.

Hello Asgardia!

I wanted to introduce myself, for those who do not know me or are unfamiliar with my dealings within Asgardia. I am the founder of Voices of Asgardia Official - World Asgardian Radio , and the volunteer Communications Coordinator for Civic Asgardia. I have taken the yoke of responsibility to set up better pathways for information flow to keep you, the citizens of Asgardia, informed on our nation's progress.

A few months ago I proposed a project called the ANN - The Asgardia News Network. This proposal was designed to begin generating media within Asgardia itself. I am pleased to announce that the Communications Division of Civic Asgardia is well into development, and the ANN is nearing completion.

At the time of the proposal, there were several newspapers started that were themed specifically for Asgardia; however, upon finding out that the work was going to remain volunteer for a while, most of the projects faded as they lacked the physical support and information flow to continue them. VOA (Voices of Asgardia) has somehow managed to weather this storm, thanks to the powerful contributions by our staff who remain committed to it, no matter the outcome.

The ANN is almost complete and very soon there will be new information out to disseminate to the public. I'm asking you to help me do it by starting your own Asgardian media initiative. There will be no financial support for a while, so it's going to take a passion for the dream and a lot of elbow grease. The rewards will be tremendous, and your countrymen will benefit from your efforts.

Your news outlet does not have to be in English; in fact, I encourage our more estranged communities to reach out to Asgardians in their own languages. Everyone deserves to know what's going on, and even though I can't facilitate all languages, you in the community can. This is a community effort.

I remain committed as a father of two and the founder and lead administrator of Voices of Asgardia to bringing whatever information is available to our citizens. I apologize if things have been blurry the last few months, many things were in development and a lot of the foundation had to be built to reach this point. And now here we are. You each can build your own skyscraper, but you'll need to put in the work to get it done. It will take time, synergy, and coordination, but I know there are those individuals out there that can achieve those goals. Asgardia wants you to be successful, this is your chance to help your community.

I will be answering questions below in the comments if you have any. If there is a delay in response I apologize - I also have two little Asgardians who need my tender loving care - but I will answer as I am able.

To finalize, the ANN is coming - a community pool of articles written by both Asgardian employees and volunteers - ranging in topics from news to the daily life of an Asgardian. You can contribute to our success by helping us get the word out through your own mediums and/or writing your own articles to contribute back to the ANN newspool.

The past week marks the beginning of the work needed for parliaments next digital sitting at the end of May. Parliamentarians are focussing on the legislative foundations that will help with Asgardia’s economic growth and its mission of humanity living, and thriving, in space.

Parliament Chairman Lembit Öpik went over the short term calendar of events for Parliament. In the next three months, there will be an economic meeting planned for March 21/22, parliaments all day working meeting on April 4, and the next digital sitting tentatively set for the weekend of May 24.

Members of Parliament discussed the Currency Act, a priority piece of legislation to go with the upcoming key Acts to help with Asgardia’s economic growth. Parliament will be looking into forming a currency logistics team to ensure that all currency information is clear and available so that there will be a smooth launch of the SOLAR and Asgardia’s economy can continue to grow.

The Chairman has continued to work with the parliament support team on the coordination of parliament meeting live-streams. The goal is to have it ready by the digital sitting and then for future meetings of parliament. These will open transparency of the work being done on behalf of the Asgardia community and increase understanding of the future plans of Asgardia.

There was a short discussion about historical archives of parliamentary communications and meetings as well as a brief presentation of Asgardia’s social media and community happenings.

We need uniform ideas and as a people we should have already came up with a few together, but here are some of mine.

If you’re 25yo or less,

You are not trusted

and it seems that you don’t care not to be trusted.

The current main debate is not anymore “should the age to be elected to the Parliament be lowered?” but rather “should a petition to change the age for Parliament list 18 or 25 as the minimum age for Parliamentary members?” as the poll launched by Christina Cole , a civic.asgardia moderator and Parliamentary Candidate, shows.

You are not trusted because out of 224 votes as seen today, 162 votes choose 25yo as the new minimum age and only 62 votes choose 18yo.

This is justified by saying that someone under 25 years of age cannot possibly have suitable ideas, enough and relevant life experience, education, etc. to become a Member of the Parliament of Asgardia.

Why do I say that you don’t care not to be trusted ?

Because statistics show that 18-25yo represent over 50% of all Asgardians. To justify my claim, just among the last 100 Asgardians who signed up in the last hour or so, there are 60% under 25yo people who signed up to the website asgardia.space.

But you don’t care because you don’t go to vote in that poll.

Maybe is it that you are not interested in seeing your peers able to become members of the Parliament?
Or maybe you agree that you don't have suitable ideas , enough and relevant experience, education , etc. to be Members of the Parliament of Asgardia?

Either way, I STRONGLY suggest, that you take the time to vote for that poll, as its results will be used to justify the push for the modification of the Constitution to change the age to become MP.

So, if you want that minimum age to be 25 , just don’t do anything . It is what is going to happen.

Estos son los últimos cambios en el sistema de voto y candidaturas.

Con los cambios que ha habido, ahora los mayores de 40 años optan a un puesto de parlamentario en su distrito y los mayores de 18 años y menores de 40 años optan a un puesto en el gobierno de Asgardia. En la pantalla de las votaciones en cada distrito aparece en la parte superior los candidatos al parlamento y en la inferior los candidatos al gobierno.

Antes cada Asgardiano podía votar a una persona pero ahora ha cambiado. Se puede votar a quien quieras, se trata de votar al grupo de parlamentarios y de gobierno que más te interese pero hay que tener claro las normas pues no todos los votos van a contar al final si has dado más votos que plazas hay para el parlamento. Lo explico a continuación.

1. Todos los Asgardianos tienen derecho a nominarse a sí mismos.

2. Las auto nominaciones finalizarán en la media noche hora de París del 26 de Febrero de 2018.

3. Aquellos que se han nominado a sí mismos no pueden hacer cambios en sus plataformas después de este momento ( media noche del 26 de Febrero de 2018 hora de París ).

4. Durante el control del perfil, cualquier inexactitud ( nombre incorrecto, apellidos, errores en la fecha de nacimiento, educación, etc... ) puede ser la base sobre la cual el Comité Electoral elimine la candidatura.

5. Hasta el 1 de Marzo los votos pueden cambiarse o reasignarse y recordad, ahora se puede votar por todos los que queráis no solo por una persona. Entre el 1 y el 9 de Marzo ya no se podrán cambiar los votos pues es el período de contabilización de los mismos.

6. Cada candidato puede nominarse en un solo distrito pero se puede votar en todos los distritos que quieras.

7. A media noche del 28 de Febrero hora de París se vuelve a calcular y confirmar el número de escaños de cada distrito y ya no cambiaráa hasta el final de las elecciones.

8. Todos los Asgardianos tienen derecho a recibir un número ilimitado de votos en cualquier distrito y de cualquier distrito.

9. Todos los votos recibidos en cada distrito se contarán a no ser que la persona que ha votado lo haya hecho a más candidatos que escaños hay.

Ejemplo: Imaginemos que soy del distrito #4 y he votado en el #4 y en el #5. Si en el distrito #4 hay 15 plazas para el parlamento y yo he votado a 15 o menos candidatos contarán todos mis votos pero si en el distrito #5 solo hay 5 plazas para el parlamento y yo he votado por 7 candidatos, solamente se contabilizarán mis últimos 5 votos. Lo mismo con el resto de distritos. Únicamente se contabilizarán los últimos votos en caso de que se vote a más candidatos de los que pueden ser elegidos.

10. Para evitar que se haya votado a alguien al principio y no se quiera perder ese voto, entre el 1 y el 9 de Marzo de 2018 aparecerá un botón en cada candidato de "Confirmar Voto". Es muy importante este botón por que va a asegurar que ese voto es inamovible.

Ejemplo: En el punto anterior yo había votado por 7 candidatos en el distrito #5 y solo hay 5 plazas para el parlamento. Si no confirmo el voto de ningún candidato solo contarán los últimos 5 votos pero si entre el 1 y el 9 de Marzo confirmo el voto de alguno de los candidatos que he votado, esas confirmaciones tendrán preferencia sobre todos mis votos. Imaginaros que confirmo 2 candidatos, se contarán esos dos votos más los 3 últimos. Se trata de asegurar el voto a los candidatos que quieras.

• 1. All Asgardians have the rights to nominate themselves.
• 2. Self-nominations will stop at midnight Paris time on 26 February 2018
• 3. Those who have nominated themselves cannot make changes to their profiles or platforms after this time
• 4. During the profile check, any inaccuracies (incorrect first name, last name, mistakes in the date of birth, education, etc.) may be the basis upon which the Central Election Committee removes the candidate's nomination
• 5. Until 1 March, votes can be changed or reallocated. During the period of 1 March - 9 March, this is no longer possible as it is the period during which the votes are counted.
• 6. Every candidate can nominate himself/herself in only one district.
• 7. At midnight Paris time on 28 February, the number of seats for each district is recalculated and confirmed. This number does not change until the end of the election.
• 8. Every Asgardian has the right to receive an unlimited number of votes in any district
• 9. All of the votes received in each of the district are counted if they do not exceed the number of seats for each district. If they do exceed the number of seats, the most recent votes are counted first.
  Example:
  Assume the I am from the French district, which receives four seats in Parliament. In this district, four Members of Parliament are to be selected from nine candidates.
  I am not nominating myself, only voting for others.
  In the French district, I voted for all nine candidates. My votes are given to the four candidates for whom I voted most recently.
  In the English district, I voted for three candidates (fewer than the 71 seats in Parliament), so my three votes are given to the three candidates.
  In the Russian district, I voted for six candidates (while the number of seats for the Russian district is five), so my votes are given to the five candidates for whom I voted most recently.
• 10. There must be a "Confirm Vote" button that is assigned a higher priority than the timing of the last vote. This button must work during the period of 1-9 March. Voting with this button only works if it does not exceed the maximum number of seats in a given district.
  Example:
  I am from the French district, where the number of Parliamentary seats is four. In this district, four Members of Parliament will be chosen out of nine candidates. I am not nominating myself, only voting for others.
  In the French district, I voted for all nine candidates. I voted for three of them twice -- that is, I voted for them the second time by using the "Confirm Vote" button.
  My votes are given to:
  - The three I confirmed
  - From the remaining six candidates, my one remaining vote is given to the candidate for whom I voted most recently (because there are four seats for this district)
  In the English district, I voted for three candidates (fewer than the 71 seats in Parliament)
  - My three votes are given to the three candidates.

According to the plan, SpaceX's Falcon Heavy rocket will be launched on Tuesday February 6 following frequent schedule changes. At the first launch of this rocket, Elon Musk’s fancy car, Tesla Roadster, will be transported to the orbit of sun as a symbolic cargo. Previously, this cargo was supposed to launch into Hohmann transfer orbit, on a path with intersection of Mars orbit. But due to the frequent changes in launch program, the appropriate time frame was missed and it has been decided that Elon Musk’s vehicle will be sent to an orbit to circle around the sun for an indefinite future.

This launch if the first of 5 planned launch for Falcon Heavy by 2020. What makes this launch special is the complexity of this mission for sending and recovering the original rocket and its two boosters. SpaceX has been working hard over the past years to implement space rocket retrieval technology. This technology can significantly reduce the cost of space travel. Simultaneous recovering of Falcon Heavy components can prove the technical superiority of this company. However Elon Musk has previously announced that SpaceX will not be convinced by Falcon Heavy and they have a bigger-ambitious project codenamed BFR. The rocket claimed that will have the ability to easily/economically transfer people between Earth to Earth, Earth to Moon and Earth to Mars destinations.

All the space enthusiasts are impatiently looking forward to the successful implementation of SpaceX ambitious plans. So if you are interested in space travels too, don’t miss the historical February 6th launch of Falcon Heavy. This launch is scheduled for 18:30-21:30 GMT.
