Introduction

In the text of Decree 15, HoN Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli announced that he would bring an end to the funding of the nation, with all funding due to wrap up by the end of the year. The purpose of Operation: Treasury is to start exploring ways for Asgardia to develop its own funds.

Aim

To mobilize and organize a think-tank of volunteers from  the community with a view to source viable methods of funding Asgardia in both the pre and post formation of Parliament, and to help deliver the vehicles and services required for Asgardians to generate income and trade with one another.

Objectives

1. Operation: Treasury will seek to bring into the fold any Asgardians who think that it is something they might be able to help with.
2. This Operation will seek to explore, address and propose and implement both short-term and long-term solutions regarding the financing of the nation.
3. The operation will be comprised of independent citizens, parliamentary candidates and government candidates, but no current ranking officials or members of Asgardia NGO.
4. Within the scope of this operation will be the research and establishment of revenue-generating businesses or solutions, project proposals and reports.

Scope

As we are not currently permitted to raise funds on behalf of Asgardia, the think-tank will be limited to conducting research, making proposals or developing projects that have the involvement or the formal agreement of Asgardia’s copyright holders / Asgardia NGO.

Transparency

One of the primary goals will be the absolute transparency of the operation and every effort shall be made to share the details, costs, income and expenses of any projects that are run. Furthermore, all reports, investigations and research will be shared with the community, with Parliament and Asgardia NGO.

First Step

The first step we are taking is to notify the community of this think-tank and start to gather together volunteers so that we can conduct meetings and brainstorming sessions to come up with some solutions to the financial problems that we’re facing as a Nation.

Asgardia, to announce its next steps at Press Conference, 13 June 2017, Hong-Kong

HONG KONG: On 13 June 2017, the Asgardia team will gather in Hong Kong to announce detailed plans for the first Space Nation's next steps. Led by Asgardia's Head of Nation, Dr Igor Ashurbeyli , one of the world’s most distinguished rocket scientists , the international group of leading scientists will discuss the foundation of Asgardia. Asgardia will open up access to space for commerce, science and for people from all around the world. The event will mark a new era in the Space Age, sixty years after the first ever artificial space satellite, Sputnik 1 orbited the earth. The event will be livestreamed, with details to be announced shortly.

The press conference is for accredited media only.

There will be an Asgardian meeting for all interested Asgardians later the same day. Details will follow shortly.

Greetings Asgardians!

I am running for the position of Mayor of Toronto for Asgardia. It is my hope that I can help with representation for other Asgardia communities within the Golden Horseshoe so that we can build the southwestern Asgardia community so that other leaders can step up and take charge.

As part of the digital team I have already stepped up to help represent the Asgardia community in organizing the social media moderation team of Civic Asgardia and help organize online and offline events for Asgardians. I plan on leading by example with the Toronto community to show the world exactly what the Asgardia community is about and act as your representative to the administration of Asgardia.

My Plan As Mayor

Arrange monthly/bi-monthly meet and greets

Asgardia has been mostly a virtual nation up until now. Meeting in person will help bring us together to help  create a thriving Asgardia community. We will be able to make personal and business connections, give in person feedback and suggestions, hear news about Asgardia events and organize our own. It will also allow prospective Asgardians come and meet some of the people that make up Asgardia and help answer any questions they may have about it. Having a set place and date would allow new Asgardians to complete their in person verification as well as allow us to organize outings, educational seminars, and other such fun events.

Help support Asgardia business owners

As a business owner myself, I see the great potential of the global community reach that Asgardia can bring. It’s my aim to help business owners bring their services and/or products to our community so that we can help build the Asgardia economy and services that we can provide.

Organize and Develop Community Initiatives

One of the goals of my term as mayor is to successfully advocate for the next Parliamentary Assembly session to be held in Toronto and turn it into a multi day event in which Asgardians from all over the globe can attend. I would also like to start building the foundation for educational events and support systems in cooperation with local colleges and universities. Begin the creation of civic volunteering outreach programs and youth engagement programs.
