Since I'm now an Asgardian, and being serious about it, I guess I'll have to start by introducing myself. Asgardia really feels like a place I've always been looking for. I know we're a space race and the universe is our future (and probably our past as well). So being Asgardian feels really natural to me. I'm actually very proud to be part of this community of likeminded people. What I want to contribute to Asgardia ? In short : space music ! I've been an ambient music producer for decades, and more and more my music has been becoming free of traditional earthy rules like timing and tuning signatures. My ambient music is based on randomness and unpredictability, very much like life and the universe itself, and I always picture it as being the perfect soundtrack for space travel in hybernation, or just working on board of a space vessel, while occasionally looking outside to wonder off into deep thoughts. So expect some links to my cosmic soundscapes here soon, as well as some of my deeper reflections about the place of us humans in the universe. How do we see the future of our nation evolve?

I joined this nation in the hopes of finding people of equal mind. People who think that earth is not our final destination as humans. As earth is finite, we need to find our home amoung the stars. Asgardia is my hope for the future of humans who think. I would like to see a nation build on reason, where the principles of scientific progress and research are our first priority. Because only by progressing can we find our homes amoung the Stars. So i aspire to help anyway i can. I will listen to people who are smarter then me and help where i can.

I will tell you briefly, who I am. And why the hell I am not the right guy for this job. Yet I am still running, because I care about future of mankind. At politics is what I do almost every day.

Blah, Blah Intro...

Let's start from the beginning. I am Polish, born in Warsaw, at the twilight of the Era. I was born, the same year when the Communism officially ended in my country and the Fall of the Iron Curtain was due in a just couple of years. As each and everyone of you, I am grateful to whiteness history in making. First, fall of Communism,  a transition period and then the accession of  Eastern- Central Europe to structures of the EU and NATO, in meantime we had the war on terror, that is still going on. Other words we live in very interesting times.  Now we can see the dawn of two eras in history mankind, maybe even three:  dawn of space age and conquest of it by man, raise of multi-polar world order, that has been heralded for few years, and perhaps the rise of AI in next 10 -30 years.  All these events will change a fate of mankind forever. Given if we survive this century...

I believe that Asgardia will become a beacon of stability and enlightenment, in upcoming turbulent age.  I want Asgardia to succeed and become an important player in the international arena. With nation-states raising their attention toward space. A lot of changes are bound to come, changes that will reshape international order.

Who the hell I am.

Now, when we covered bit of my ideology and into, let's get down to the business. I am not a man of words. But you can say I am a politician of sorts. civic activist and probably one of the funniest people you will encounter in your life.  In my life I have two general princiiples ,I am trying to follow:

I'm not interested in preserving the status quo; I want to overthrow it

Aut Caesar, aut nihil.

I am an ambitious guy and when I put my mind to something, there is no way in the hell to stop me, Currently I reside in Netherland, a small town of Maastricht, where I graduated with my second bachelor degree in European Law and started Masters at United Nations University, however I haven't finished it.  If we're on the subject of education let me mention that I also studied European Studies, IT , and I am a graduate of Political Science of  Warsaw University.  So when it comes to theoretical background, I guess that's more than enough.

Where it comes to practical application of my knowledge, I am quite active in few political youth organisations on the local and European level. And these days, I find myself travelling to EuroCapital, Brussels, quite often, due to my obligations to the organisations I am a member of.  There are just bit too many to remember,  and may Cthulu be my witness, I don't want to bore you with my blah blah.

To be concise,  the world is changing, and things won't be the same anymore. Asgardia needs people with vision, who will be on the forefront of these changes. And that's, where I want to be.

Until now, I was telling, who am I and what makes me suitable to represent you in Asgardia. Well to begin with like majority of us, here in Asgardia. I am a nerd. I love Sci-Fi, Anime, Fantasy and I could dwell in books for hours, and hours. Just reading them. Only if I would have time for it... chlip chlip. :( I should also mention, that I love to cosplay.

For years now I've been a member of the costuming organisation, where I pose as a Sith Lord. You could see t hat coming, didn't you? Come on, what can you expect from a guy, who studied politics and law, and goes to Brussels, for shit and giggles... Of course, I am evil. Who in right mind would want to study, those subjects and be a good person?

I believe that Earth needs a new hope so mankind can finally spread to other places in galaxy and then... I can proclaim the first Galactic Empire, for a safe and secure society, which I assure you will last for ten thousand years!

Except having the Dark Side of the Force and my evil ambitions of becoming first ever real space villain. I am pretty chilled dude. I love sleeping till noon, being lazy and playing with dogs. ( Btw did you know that anagram of dog is god?). Defo I love staying up until late night.  Future is yours, as the vote. Will stand with me, so together we can rule the Galaxy.... Or you're a traitor and part of the Rebel Alliance?

Oh and those who prefer, to make Earth capital of United Federation of Planet... Well guys how should I break it to you? Live long and prosper.

Welcome to my first blog. I’m completely new at this (don’t even have a Facebook account) so bear with me if I breach the blog netiquette.

A brief introduction: I’d like to think of myself as a scout, not only in the domain of science & technology (“The Sciences”), but also in the field of “The Humanities” (philosophy, psychology, sociology and economics).

More in particular, I’m interested in R&D that is able to link the “state-of-the-art” in the exact "STEM" sciences with new insights in The Humanities (aka “Liberal Arts”). After all, it’s the relation and tension between both domains that makes us "human" (Experience some of the tension on the subject in the comments posted below the article here: http://thoughtcatalog.com/skylar-grogan/2014/02/the-humanities-vs-the-sciences-who-wins-out/ )

If you look up the word “scout” on Thesaurus.com (“detective, explorer, lookout, pioneer, spotter, adventurer, guard”), you’ll understand why I do not like to limit myself to just the state-of-the-art in both domains. I prefer to anticipate future developments and venture “educated guesses”.

How well educated are my guesses? Probably not particularly better or worse than anyone else’s.

Thanks to the growing venture capital industry in continental Europe, I’ve just been extremely fortunate to have worked closely together with a number of brilliant researchers who compete with the best in their field. This includes researchers in the field of neuro-science, artificial-intelligence, satellite communication, bionics, functional food, robotics and immunology. My partnerships over the last 10 years with these researchers have allowed me to better understand the state-of-the-art in various R&D domains, making it all the more tempting to speculate about the future.

For a scientist, speculation of any sort is typically frowned upon. At the risk of academic suicide, researchers are required to base their statements on experimental proof.  Only a handful of the world’s leading scientists, the ones that supersede the mainstream academic community through prestige,  dare to share their views on the future. A nice example is Brian Greene’s freewheeling on page 306 of his 2015 hardcover publication “The Hidden Reality”, where he suggests we are living in a simulation.

Fortunately, for “laymen” or “scouts” like myself, it is much easier to speculate publically about our future.   Especially in this interesting new environment, I feel encouraged to share views on such topics and seek the opinion of an early adopter crowd, which I'm hoping to address here.

This brings me to Asgardia. A wonderful enterprise based on noble principles I can relate to. I am anxious to see how this nation will evolve and hope I can contribute based on my personal and professional experiences in the early stage venture capital industry.

I’d love to interact with fellow Asgardians to exchange experiences and views. In particular, I love pondering the bigger questions related to our multiverse and conscious being. If you share my intrigue into this particular hypothesis, please leave a comment.

Sex in space: Sex sells, so I thought to start with that :) I think we'll manage sex, what comes after it another matter. I think human babies will not be able to form a normal bone structure without gravity. For colonization in the future we'll have to solve those issues and also related issues for plants and animals.

Think clearly: Humans make the same mistakes over and over again. A good book is 'The art of thinking clearly' from Rolf Dobelli (2014, ISBN 978-1-444-75956-3). Even he makes thinking mistakes when explaining other mistakes. Better read it and avoid most of those mistakes.

Keep it simple: rules, finance: For some reason people like to make things complicated. The want to solve problem with new rules and regulation even when the return on investment is clearly negative. Go for the pareto rule: 80-20, 20% of effort for 80% of the solution. Stop there unless human lives are at stake (1/10000 to die, also stop there). And only solve problems where more than 5% of the population has severe difficulties and history has proven that they can only be adressed by setting some rules.

For finance, make no debt as a nation, for firms it's fine if they have a fair chance that the interest payments are more than 5% lower than the added value gained. For individuals, there is a good book 'The richest man in Babylon' from George S. Clason (1926, free eBook on the internet).

To grasp how economy works look at 'How the economic machine works' from Ray Dalio (2013, video on youtube; there is also a paper that goes in more detail).

For terrestrial nations I find there should be only 2 taxes: on the amount of territory you use for your activities (like living, industry; i.e. 70 €/m2) and value added tax (i.e. 10%). Also I'm for a base income. It's a completely different approach but it's simple and effective. Companies would only need 2 registers: in and out. On buying products they pay value added tax like everyone, on selling the customers pay them. That is it: no tax on profit, financial transaction, wages, ... The strategic advantage that a nation would get over other nations that will still use the current system will be astronomical.

Vote for arguments, not rules: When making rules, the individual arguments (including those that were not followed) are almost never present or explained and why they are withoutheld and why not. So future generations always have to guess why a rule is made. This is also the case with the Asgardian constitution. I see rules that conflict each other so I'm missing information. With the opportunity for a new nation I find we need to get at least this right.

Language: When going to 1 language, it's better to make a new one. Start with the human side, an alphabet that is easy to write, a simple and consistent speech and then make it suitable for electronic communication. Just a few elements to consider: 1,i,l look too much alike; so keeping only figures, steno would be nice but will be impractical to adapt for electronic communication, spoken japanese is very consistent and has a logical structure (but maybe better not to put the verbs at the end) and don't forget people who are impaired.

Privacy: In these times where everyone finds it normal that everything is puplic, it's actually not such a good idea in general. It is essential that people have their private space. I'm strongly opposed to a world like in 'Brave new world' from Aldous Huxley (1932, free eBook on the internet). The way things go, we might end up there sooner than later.

Green-house effect: The solution lies in changing the refraction of the planet. Current measures won't do. I'm estimating a rise in sea levels in the next 10 years for at least a few meters.

Extra padding: Some people have aquired some extra padding. Look how glucose is processed in the body and realize that is prevent the buring of fat.

Last note: Time is precious, so I will only elaborate on these topics if it makes a difference. I'll defend the ways of logic while stressing that rules should be used sparsely so people can live instead of just survive.

With the enabling of social media, constant connectivity and mobile devices, the world as become a village. That's a slogan. Everyone is only a few connections (e.g. facebook) separated from everyone else on earth. Yet we walk around as strangers (in the night), more busy with recording the surroundings on our mobile devices, but not interacting with the physical person standing next to us! Unite, one people, but do not forget to interact with your neighbors "in real life". And help "in real live". Socialize.
