This is a previously sent letter to asgardian members.

To whom it may concern,

in order to reflect the primary concept that Asgardia has yet no main language (except its working language for sole purpose of logical communication of ideas between earthlings) which would cause division by creating an irreductible barrier between its own members, I do believe the Anthem you seek should reflect this as well, and entirely rely on the international language that is music, transmitting emotions instead of simple written ideas, sharing creations of art instead of spoken knowledge that does not extend across human evolution. Also and nevertheless, even if the grand idea that is Asgardia is very down to earth -read; Possible-, it is to be thought that this full fledged nation will be the first contact between earth and any extraterrestrial forms. We have to believe, if these have the capability of hearing and analyzing, that human spoken language will most likely not be understood, as it is not only proprietary to humans, but also sharing concepts and ideas that they do not even originaly share and might never do or even want to. Music by itself has a greater chance to be taken as a welcoming symbol of peace, even if such idea may only remain an assumption in any case such encounter happens. I therefore recommend that the Anthem contest page allows uploads of mp3 and other most common form of compressed music files as well as images for music sheets, to allow everyone to try their best in making an anthem that will be voted between other members and really reflect the idea of an international nation.

I may have found some issues in the Constitution, the Constitution which has been offered to us for Unity Day.

I will list the issues I have found so to open discussion upon it.

Article 4:5 states that "the absolute supreme value of Asgardia shall prevail over all Supreme Values."

To be clear, this implies that Article 4:3 ("Asgardia’s absolute supreme value is humanity striving into the infinite future, the infinite Universe, and infinite new Universes.") takes precedence over the human rights and peace in space as listed in Article 4:4.

Article 4:7 states that "It is prohibited to undermine or diminish the Supreme Values of Asgardia." This might conflict with citizens freedom of speech.

Article 8:4 omits the "right to life" and the "right to privacy".

Article 9:6 states that people are obligated "to participate in elections and referenda. Systematic derogation of this duty may lead to legal consequences in accordance with Asgardia’s laws. " This might conflict with the people's freedom of speech.

Article 12:4 states that "Asgardia shall use all available resources to ensure the safety and sustainability of its natural resources and the space environment". "All available resources" includes people's private property, as can be read in Article 12:3.

Article 22:5 & 6. "Immorality" and "morality" are not defined.

Article 32:5 limits the age of a Head of Nation candidate to between 50 and 65 years old. This is an unusually narrow and restrictive condition.

Article 32:9 states that the Head of Nation has the power to dissolve the Parliament. Since the Parliament is the device that supervise the HoN, this could quickly become an autocracy.

Article 44 Amending the constitution should be made resistant to amendments. Otherwise someone with great power or a corporation could simply lock the constitution once it has reached a shape that benefits him/her/it.
