If only we are the intelligent ones, it means that we are the pinnacle of intelligence. Look at the people in the square, does it seem possible that they are the best?" A practical answer from a practical man. My deduction then and now is obviously not! Let us limit our speculations to biological life forms only. I believe that any biological expression, somewhere around us, overcoming various critical steps, has given rise to an evolved civilization, be it mammals, reptiles, insects, plants, etc. Like us, many others feel the urge to know what is "fluttering" around them and compatibly with the available technology, they go along with it. History teaches, except for catastrophic events that cause traumatic setbacks and regressions, the exponential power of technology. It follows, keeping us cautious, that in a hundred years we will be able to move quite easily within our potentially colonized solar system. Another hundred years and we'll start to smell that "air is blowing" in those nearby. If I could go back to that Sunday in July, to a later question, my grandfather would answer: "Does it seem possible that what we have is the maximum technology available in the Universe?". This long premise is intended to speculate on how ready we are to change our normal view of life from "island" to "oceanic".
