It has a temperate climate and Earth-like dimensions the new planet discovered by a team of astronomers from the Southern European Observatory (Eso). This new planet called Ross 128b is located around a star in the constellation Virgo, located only eleven light years from our solar system. According to the researchers it would be able to accommodate life because for surface and mass it can be compatible with the presence of liquid water. Given its proximity to us, it is one of the first candidate planets to be sighted with the ELT optical telescope that will be operational in Chile in 2025.

Asgardia-1, il nostro primo vero pezzetto di territorio, è in orbita da più di 4 mesi ormai, e nessuno stato facente parte delle Nazioni Unite, ha riconosciuto la nostra sovranità. Scalzare la supremazia statunitense e russa, sulla conquista dello spazio, sembra far storcere il naso a molti. La nostra è stata una piccola, ma importantissima, pietra miliare nella storia dell'uomo, una nazione autoproclamata, libera dalle influenze e ingerenze delle nazioni terrestri, elevatasi a garante della pace e della cooperazione internazionale per una conquista spaziale equa e non distruttiva, ha il diritto di essere riconosciuta come una forza trainante nel, così fragile, sistema socio-economico terrestre.

Nostro è il dovere, dunque, di traghettare l'umanità verso una nuova era di ottimismo, prospera e sostenibile, dove lo spazio non manca per nessuno, la povertà è solo un ricordo lontano, la fame sarà materia da studiare sui libri di scuola e le malattie saranno soltanto una vecchia favola raccontata ai bambini prima di dormire. Non smetterò mai di dirlo: nostro è il dovere di collaborare e cooperare con le nazioni terrestri affinché tutti contribuiscano alla nascita dell'umanità come specie multi-planetaria, alla scoperta di nuovi mondi e nuove opportunità. Come candidato al Ministero degli Affari Esteri, voglio rassicurare ogni Asgardiano che i nostri diritti saranno sempre garantiti in sede diplomatica e che, la nostra politica sarà sempre quella del dialogo e dell'apertura mentale nei confronti di un pianeta che stenta a riconoscerci.

Our home, our future, lays literally in our hands . As a species our job, and our life mission, should be to guarantee a bright and sustainable life for all our descendants. Nowadays, we all know, that we've done so little .

The main reason I'm expressing my dreams and my concerns, is that I don't want to have any complaints in the future, I want to build solid roots to the planet we all call "home", but I also want to be proud to live in a multi-planetary society.

We, as Asgardians , have the duty to establish flourishing relationships between us and our neighbours on Earth, but also we have the duty to give mankind finally a peaceful ground where to invest and develop .

first of all, I would like to point out that I do not like the definition of "leaders", because too often, among humans, leaders are individuals who aim for power, to fulfill their ambitions, aim for money and personal benefits.

So I apply to be not a leader, but an "enlightened" person who can be a good guide.

Asgardia must not repeat the mistakes ever made on Earth; it is necessary that absolute democracy works on Asgardia (the majority of who has the right to decide) and also is necessary the real participation of all people. However, a filter has to be established: the right to decide and vote will only be of those who, through special tests, will demonstrate that they have a minimum level of knowledge of history, law and civic sense, psychology and sociology. Otherwise, the votes of people who do not have enough information and awareness, threaten the whole system.
