There is a lot of momentum happening in Parliament right now with members working hard to prepare for the Physical Sitting which is due to take place in Estonia on 23-25 November. Members of Parliament are working to develop important legislation that will define and empower our economy and allow residents to participate in economic activities in Asgardia. The Physical Sitting will see members of Parliament and Government coming together with the common goal of driving towards self-sufficiency. Creating a new nation is no small task and no-one is under the illusion that we can do it without strong financial mechanisms and a robust economy. In order to implement Government services that will support our Residents and Citizens and to achieve our scientific and technological goals, such as the birth of the first human in space, we’re going to need to do everything we can in the coming months and years. The MANUFACTURING COMMITTEE has been hard at work developing laws that will underpin standards and regulations for people working in Asgardia and ensuring that we have compliant standards which will make it easier for the nation to work with other nations around the world. The committee is focussed on three main areas at the moment; Asgardia Institute of Standards Establishment Law Definition of Project Management System Health and Safety Regulations The first and third points will define Asgardian laws and the second point will become a manual of definitions for Project management systems, standards and certifications that will be used by the Asgardia Institute of Standards and the Minister of Manufacturing in the execution of global projects and the hiring of certified professionals - ensuring that Asgardia has clear processes and exacting standards. The Chairman of the Manufacturing Committee, MR FERNANDO MOTTE, said “Not only is AIS Brand Homologation a source of income to Asgardia Space Nation but also the certifications that the Asgardian Professionals will have to exhibit in order to work within the Global Projects executed by the Minister of Manufacturing according to the Decree of Head of Nation.” The CULTURE COMMITTEE has also been working diligently on the development and administration of the new and exciting ASGARDIAN PARLIAMENTARY SPACE ART COMPETITION which will be an opportunity for Artists all over the world to share their vision of our future in Space and have their art logged in history in Asgardia’s Digital Space Library. Full details of the competition will be announced in the coming days, so stay tuned for that on our official social media channels. The Culture Committee said “Best of luck to all our talented Space Artists and Visionary Artists of our future in space!” The DEPUTY CHAIRMAN of Parliament, BEN DELL is working on the proposal for the Economic System of Asgardia at the Head of Nation’s request. This piece of priority legislation will be one of the cornerstones that Asgardia’s economy will be built on. Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman has been in talks with the Head of Nation about the definition and implementation of Mayor, Prefect and Governor positions. The establishment of these governance positions will allow Asgardia to organise and act on a local community level.
