We mentioned in a previous update that Parliament had approved the resources for a physical sitting and we are pleased to say that this has now been confirmed. The second physical sitting of Parliament will take place in Tallinn, Estonia in November and it is expected to run between the 23rd and 26th. The focus for the sitting will be on developing Asgardia’s economy. There are lots of things that we want to roll out in the coming year that will deliver more value to the Residents of Asgardia including government services and initiatives like the Digital Space Library - and without a keen focus on kickstarting the economy, it won’t be possible to further develop the nation. Parliament is continuing with its work. The Trade and Commerce Committee has reported that they have finished their drafts on priority legislation that will deliver value within Asgardia concerning future business entrepreneurs as well as protect their intellectual properties, once the Acts are approved. Following with an initiative from the Minister of Trade and Commerce, which involves fine-tuning the business proposal database, that has now been named Business Activities Database Development, or BADD. The goals of the program are to: - To give valuable assistance to everyone who wants to become business entrepreneurs; - Manage all business ventures in one place; - Provide security for those ventures; - Create a secure database location where all business-related ventures can be recorded, tracked, updated, and prioritized; - Understand the entrepreneur's needs, and give them valuable assistance in developing a good business plan and; - Provide a secure location for the storing of Asgardian intellectual properties. The Trade and Commerce committee is assisting the Minister in this development due to its vital importance for Asgardia. The Chair of Trade and Commerce, John Fine introduced a pilot test program within parliament to work out all the unforeseen problems, and eventually, it will be extended to all Asgardians if the program works as expected. The great thing about the program is that it will be available 24/7 and will work anywhere around the world. Plus it has an easy to fill out a form that is user-friendly and comes in several languages. The committee is very hopeful in the success of the program because it will be a valuable service that will add value to any other services offered. Members of the Citizenship Committee are working on different areas related to social protection, rights of citizens, social assistance and medical benefits. Furthermore, aspects of the law related to people who die and the rights of their heirs and the expenses that their worker's insurance must cover to be able to incinerate or bury the insured. They are also considering how it would be profitable to create markets where Asgardians receive discounts, leverage Asgardia Citizens numbers to leverage favourable deals and purchase at negotiated prices, recognizing that there is great competition in global markets that have the necessary distribution channels to close global business. In summary, we are intensifying our work, creating the laws that would allow Asgardia to thrive as the First Space Nation in the history of Humanity.

Voting results from the last Parliament Sitting have been published this week and participation was reported to be 97%! This data shows that Asgardia’s parliament is in good spirits and that they’re carrying out their duties. AMPs continue volunteering their time and best efforts, representing all Asgardians in creating the first space nation. Following up from last week's report, parliament voted on six issues during the last sitting. Until Head of Nation publishes a decree confirming the details, we are unable to share all the outcomes of the votes with you. We can share one piece of good news, however. Chairman of the Citizenship committee, Mr. Benjamin Dell, was voted as Deputy Chair of Parliament for 100 votes in favour out of 107. We congratulate Mr Dell on his appointment. Mr Dell’s first task as Deputy Chair is to start taking the lead ono collecting economic proposals and synthesising them into a unified format that will be addressed at the next Parliament sitting where Parliament will be focussed on the task of kick-starting Asgardia’s economy. Parliament approved the allocation of resources to hold a physical sitting - passing with a majority of 79 votes. Chairman of Parliament, Mr Lembit Öpik expressed that the physical sitting would be beneficial for Parliament stating that the sitting would be used as an intensive session to focus on the development of Asgardia’s finances. Last week brought good news for the Culture Committee too, as MP and artist Cheryl Gallagher was appointed Executive Secretary of the Committee. In fact, during the weekend Ms Gallagher held a committee meeting. Among very interesting plans for the immediate and long term future, MP Gallagher reminded the committee that the committee should promote an atmosphere of trust, respect, clarity, accountability and work to develop the social health of Asgardia. The Committee believes that a holistic approach should be taken and aim to work in concert with other committees. Alexander Ryzhy, Chairman of the Finance Committee, shared with us that, in the last few weeks they have discussed few topics about National Currency Law, National Bank Law and Tax Law. The committee will generate a timetable for development and submission of proposals for Parliament's approval. They have an outline on a much anticipated and needed National Currency Bill created by MP Takuya Kanako that will soon be presented to Parliament. Certainly, this is a big step in Asgardia development. The PR parliament subcommittee is working with the IT department on facilitating more clear information about all members of parliament, so Asgardians can better know their representatives and directly communicate to their offices in the near future. Overall, the parliament of Asgardia continues building a solid foundation to facilitate the creation of the first Space Nation. It is not a small feat but we are united by a common goal.
