We’re launching a new challenge! To celebrate Asgardia’s Unity Day, we’re sending our coat of arms on a world tour. Give it a warm welcome in your own country and pass it on! ⠀ It’s easy to take part. Simply print out or draw the coat of arms, film a short clip with it and send your video to submissions@asgardia.space. Don’t forget to tag your friends and make sure you indicate your country and city. Videos with famous landmarks in the background are very welcome! ⠀ The first 30 participants to send their clips will receive Asgardia branded mugs as prizes! ⠀ We’ll show you the results of the challenge on June 17th.

Unity Day is coming soon and we believe it’s important to connect with all the Asgardians from different countries and continents on this special day. We invite you to participate in our virtual Coat of Arms relay. Print Asgardia’s Coat of Arms on the paper. The file is attached. Roll the piece of paper. Here is where things get more interesting: film a video of yourself on your smartphone or camera. Hold the phone horizontally, take a couple steps back so you’re fully visible from the waist up. Don’t worry too much about where you’re filming, the video, but if you have a great location like a pretty backyard, a cool room etc., it would be awesome if you used it! In the video do 4 simple steps: Reach to your right with your right hand outside the frame and take the paper. Unroll it and show the coat of arms into the camera. Roll the paper back up. ‘Pass’ it to your left with your left hand. That’s it! If you don’t have the opportunity to print out the logo, you can still participate! Just ‘pass’ a rolled up blank piece of paper in a shorter video. Fun and creative ways of passing the paper are welcome, just make sure you’re ‘taking’ the paper from your right and ‘passing’ it to your left! Send us the file before Saturday and don’t forget to list your name, country and city. If you don’t have a printer, but you still want to participate in the relay, you can skip step 2 and just pass a piece of rolled paper from your right to your left. Make sure your video isn’t too long: up to 8-10 seconds (2-3 seconds if you are just passing the rolled paper and not opening it). Day three of the 8th sitting of parliament has begun! On the agenda of the day, a continuation of reports from the Committees. summation of voting, review of the event calendar for the remainder of the year, and announcements. It's been an amazing weekend!

The last items of the day were the reports on work plans from the Committees of Asgardia. Parliament heard reports from the following committees: Foreign affairs - presented by Ben Dell Culture - presented by Cheryl Gallagher Manufacturing - Fernando Jimenez Motte Some discussions occupied more time so the remaining committee reports were moved to Day three. The Chairman of Parliament closed the meeting after a few encouraging remarks about the days work.

Chairman of Parliament Lembit Opik presented the document outlining the procedures for disqualification from Parliament. After receiving input and approval from MPs, the document will go to the Supreme Space Council for review. After the SSC meeting, the accepted document will be published on asgardia.space. These procedures were created in order to increase transparency and inform the community of Asgardia of the process and how it works. Parliament then discussed the document and suggested updates to ensure a fair and inclusive process.

Benjamin Dell, Deputy Chair Parliament and Chair of Foreign Affairs Committee, presented this act to parliament for its first official reading. This Act was first presented for discussion in the last Asgardia Legislative Forum (ALF) which helps to determine the rules, regulations, and defining principles related to Asgardia's currency, SOLAR. He updated Parliament on the changes made to the document and highlighted needed additions, emphasizing the reasoning behind the changes and how it adheres to the Constitution of Asgardia. He stressed the importance of moving this piece of legislation forward as it is one of the key pieces needed in regards to Asgardia’s economy. MP Dell then answered questions from Members of Parliament and received feedback and suggestions from parliament.

Asgardia MP and Chairman of the Justice Committee, Salvos Mouzakitis, presented the Judiciary Act for a second reading to Parliament. He highlighted some of the important changes made to each chapter of the Act in response to feedback by Parliament from the first reading. He explained what wording had been adjusted to add clarification to the Act and a section was added to be compliant with the rights of Asgardia citizens set in the Citizens Act of Rights which was adopted after the 7th sitting of Parliament that took place on 3 Aries - 5 Aries, 0004 (February 28 - March 1, 2020). https://asgardia.space/en/news/Focus-on-a-Thriving-Economy Supreme Justice of Asgardia, Yun Zhao made a special attendance to this parliamentary meeting in order to support this debate. He also spoke a few words about this legislation and fielded questions from parliament. The Members of Parliament held an energetic discussion about the updates and wording of the Act to ensure that there is unbiased and equal coverage of Asgardia’s legal system in relation to the digital nation.

Head of Administration to the Head of Nation, Lena De Winne, presented the proposal of the Administration on formation of the Government of Asgardia to Parliament. It is planned to declare an open selection for the positions of Ministers of the government and its Chair. Lena De Winne outlined the criteria that the Administration will look for in candidates. Those include full compliance with Article 34 of the Constitution of Asgardia, and encourages Residents of Asgardia who are experts in their field, to apply for the positions by submitting their CVs along with the proposals on how to operate respective Ministries. She then fielded questions from MPs about the proposal and encouraged members of parliament to engage with prospective candidates that they feel would be qualified for the Minister positions. Full information about the application process and criteria will be posted on the Asgardia website soon.

Chairman of Parliament, Lembit Opik, spoke about the by-elections that will run from July 1 - Oct 31. After the presentation, the floor opened to questions from MPs to ensure all information is covered so that Asgardia Residents can take part in this event. Questions included the need for the creation of electoral law, the suggestion to amend the constitution to lower the age limit, what district candidates will run under, the number of qualified Residents who can run in the election, the verification process of successful candidates, and what the term-end would be for the new parliamentarians. It was clarified that the by-elections would be run fully under the Constitution of Asgardia and all legalities have been reviewed. The official announcement that will include all of the information about the by-elections will be released later this month.

Parliament has begun it's second day of the sitting that will run from 10:00-18:00 UTC. Head of Administration to the Head of Nation Lena De Winne will speak about the reformation of government and Supreme Justice Yun Zhao will be involved in the presentation of the Judiciary Act to parliament. Asgardia’s 8th Sitting of Parliament begins today at 20:00 UTC! Chairman of Parliament, Lembit Opik, will formally open the sitting with a few remarks and officially open voting. Quorum for the meeting will be recorded and MPs will approve the agenda for the weekend.
