I would say it is better to pay them especially for those important position, or they can not focus as they would have to live with another career. I don't mean only for minister. I guess we may try to get founding from countries/organizations by explaining what we are going to do, therefore, clear cash flow and financial report will be a must -- somehow we would be very much like a company. :)

Asgardia can not be both now, because of it is not only one now. As I see in philosophy history, even big masters of philosophy could not be both either. Asgardia declares particularity, ie reel spacism, like reel socialism: Revolution in one state, spacism in one state. Asgardia is not universal, she can not be, she has not declared it so, no space state can be so in the first 5 centuries of spacism. We are limited in our thoughts, in our lives, in our states, in our history, in our future. Because we are mortals. There are people being interested in immortality like Imminst peoople, but it is a different issue. Asgardia is not interested in immortality, human cloning like Rael, head transplantation like firstly it will be done in 2017. At least now. At least it has not been declared. Particularity may be enough in the beginning. But you must obey the rules put before you. These are mostly scientific rules.

In modern western literature there's a lot of human augmentation in space faring cultures, implants and nano-tech and so on. I guess Asgardia will be more focused on the bare-bones survival of humanity in space, along with more traditional social structures. As much as I want to have a neural-uplink or optic implants, I think that's a ways off yet...

As I see, I will live and die in Istanbul. We must create the Second Republic here, the First has gone. It may take many decades and I may not see the result. There were Neanderthals and Denisovans which were evolved parallelly to Homo Sapiens. Today Homo Sapiens have some percentage common genes with them. But they had ended, Sapiens had continued. I say Posterus will go on her way and Sapiens will end on mother-planet Earth anytime and anyway. Posterus will go to the Universe. Artificial intelligence and head transplantation with cloning type hardware immortality are different (and dead ended in the beginning) types of evolution. Posterus will have a different evolution way in every space station life system and on every Earth type exoplanet. And some of them will end like Denisovans and Neanderthals.

I think the evolution of humanity will travel further down the symbiotic pathway. Much like we're currently dependent on bacteria to aid in digestion we will soon view the human populous to include robots and quantum computers. Realistically they will be part of our society, we can incorporate them as an aspect of the self or view them as invaders like a virus. How we embrace this evolution of humanity will result in either a balanced longer life or a very dirty war.
