Personally, I like to think that we shouldn't limit ourselves to supporting what's currently there. I want us to be on the moon, mars, and commercial space stations within the next 20 years. I see it happening. Why dream small? It takes people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates to be able to support missions like these that are going on. This 'project' isn't really a project. It's an adventure to start exploring our universe. We're creating a new nation. One that pulls away from 'Earthly' thought processes and starts to create new evolutionary ideals. Leo

Undoubtedly there will be many nations over which Asgardia will orbit. Some will have opposing views and may even be at war with one another. Whatever personal views we might have about terrestrial politics, showing any kind of preference will distract from the serious endeavor to protect our planet. However, it is the openly stated goal of Da'esh (persistently called 'ISIS' in media and online) to drive a wedge between Muslim and non-Muslim in western countries, to create a narrative of 'Islam against the world' to rally disaffected and alienated Muslims to their cause and destabilise the countries that would oppose them. Trump either does not understand this - which shows he is dangerously uninformed on key strategic issues - or he chooses to ignore it for his own purposes, or he chooses to ignore it because he actively supports Da'esh. For the record, I don't believe Trump consciously support Da'esh. But he - like many anti-Muslim groups across the west - is certainly doing their work for them. And again, Hitler came to power in Germany using, at least initially, the legal, functioning mechanisms of the German state. Liberty, and the values America was founded on, are about more than just following the letter of the law. They are about the spirit of the law. Liberty must, sometimes, act against the mechanisms to protect the concept. Trump is legally elected. His legitimacy remains open to question. "If Globalism is your idea of Unity, then that seriously frightens me." Globalism is not a policy. It is a consequence. It is a function of our advancing technology, our ability to communicate in real-time around the world, our ability to travel in ever-shorter times. Globalism is on us, whether we like it or not. We are one species, one humanity, whether we like it or not. You have the choice to remain frightened, and lash out against the facts - that is the appeal of Trump, and Brexit, and Putin, and all other campaigns that put country above humanity - or you can choose to work to better life for yourself and all people. Question your belief in the 'globalist cabal', and see what actually exists: powerful men and organisations manoeuvring to preserve the power and wealth they have, and gain more, and working together and opposing each other as they believe the need arises. And see also the legions of people willing to support them and protect them, as Trump's supporters and defenders do for him. This is what humanity has always been. There is no great conspiracy, no 'New World Order', no Templars, no Masonic 'power behind the throne' that represents a 'them' for 'us' to rally against. There is only 'us', and the world we want to forge for ourselves.

Trump's politics is irrelevant. He is an important world leader. Asgardia should strive to establish and maintain friendly relations with all nations. Picking ideological fights with terrestrial nations is making enemies for the sake of making enemies.

One of the more novel concepts I've seen in recent years concerning "architechture" is research by Rachel Armstrong into the likes of "living architecture". By the fabrication of "protocells" she's already got Venice partially self-repairing as a consequence to growing stone around the pillars holding up the buildings - capillary action on the protocells in the water draw them up into the buildings brickworks, where they begin to react, calcify and repair cracks in the stonework. Based loosely on the same technology that snails use to grow their shells, it opens up possibilites for architecture that's not just "living" but is in symbiosis with it's occupants. The act of being lived in fuels it all it requires to self repair. Engineered "correctly" this could grow itself, and not only self repair, but it's potentially possible to have it upgrade/downgrade itself as needs must. Have another child? someone else move in? in six weeks time the house'll grow another room. Perfecting this technology would also potentially open up for "living spacecraft" - in symbiosis with it's crew, it keeps them alive shielding them from the harshness of space(with bonus like self-repairing hull, self expanding to meet requirements, potentially even life support can be engineered in) and they keep it "alive"(it's not actually living, it's just borrowing the same physical/chemical reactions/principles, complex chains of simple protocells) feeding it all it needs to do so.

Asgardia should accept donations from big companies and institutes because it's a nation that has a big tech appeal (and that calls attention, since our development and knowledgment can serve to the whole world), and they would be allocated to scientific reaserch, of course, but we shouldn't depend on monopolies of technology. Turism is a good source of income, but we should only invest on turism when Asgardia establishes itself in space. Best regards, Martine.

Depending on advertising revenues makes us dependent on the whims of foreign corporations. Tourism has a similar problem. This is certainly a viable way to supplement the state coffers, but a diversified economy is a stable economy.

Sorry to say but your opinion has no basis in reality, there are other ways for said companies to get their products into space to be used and some are guaranteed! Therefore it would be silly for them to fight amongst each other over the possibility of Asgardia choosing to go with their products over their competitors
