So at the moment I'm just tracking Asgardia-1

In space. I think of it as a small tiny part of new adventure into the future.  I'm still not sure where I'f at all I actually fit into the big picture of this new space world. But its caught my interest as to all the possiblities that  space future can hold for human kind.

Lol little digital satellite is the start of another home 🌌 I guess sorta like VR -Virtual Reality but floating in space holding a place in space with peoples digital uploads. So I'm sorta in space hmm?

In order to represent the Kingdom of Asgardia to Earthlings effectively I believe you should first have a deep and thorough understanding of as much of the planet Earth as possible. In most of todays governments, transparency takes a back burner in the name of "national security" or "need to know". I believe in transparency, that is in that "the people, have a right to know what the governments actions and intentions are, unless in dire moments of terrorist threats or acts of war, which is a given. However, the hush hush, behind closed door dealings that take no account of the will of the people, in essence, removing the people's right to make informed decisions, completely goes against that which should be a democratic governmental system. This is one of the systemic failures currently in the United States Government. Most politicians who attend these behind closed door meetings, at some point, get "bought" by special interests, in turn giving their vote for that cause, which often times, completely contradicts the will of the people, or would, had the people been given the opportunity to make their voices heard. In nearly 20 years of service to countless communities, one thing that I am truly proud of in dealing with governments, at least, on a local level is that I cannot be bought. And I have always taken the utmost pride in standing up for the rights of the people. I have nothing to hide, and personally welcome transparency. Shouldn't your government?

I won't claim to know everything. But, one thing that I do know is that we can, and must do better than currently do as a human race. We must remember that a government is one that consists "of the people, by the people, for the people". We must expect better - and we must work collectively to do and be as such. We cannot afford to do things the way that they have always been done. We must think radically by stepping outside the box, and put the people first. For what is a government, if there are no people to govern?

We can do better. It starts with us (the citizens) and ends with the leadership, not the other way around.

We live in a world that is riddled with corruption, war, disease, poverty and destruction. Yet, we have governments playing games of political warfare dividing the people and inciting turmoil, all while the threats of actual war loom over each of our heads. Somewhere along the way, the governments of the world forgot (or choose to ignore) one of the greatest (and much needed) elements of all: THE PEOPLE .

I believe in Asgardia and all that it stands for. And, though Asgardia may be in its infancy, it truly is something remarkable. Asgardia in itself is a symbol of HOPE and shows a collective desire to do, and be, better than we are today. And while a lot of great things have already happened, or are on the horizon for Asgardia, there is still much to do. But, through the hard work and dedication of the hundreds of thousands of individuals like you, who are committed to the hope that Asgardia inspires, I know that WE can make change the paradigm of what it is to be a civilization.

That is why I am proud to announce my intent to submit a bid to run for candidacy for the Parliament of Asgardia.

Last weekend I got to live two hours of liberating music and euphoria, as a packed football stadium in all their differences, came together to celebrate what they had in common — their love of a band. The band was Coldplay and I was more excited than a kid at a sleepover party! I knew that memories from this night would be etched in my soul forever just like six years ago when I saw them live in concert for the first time. But this post is not about Coldplay and how inimitably awe-inspiring they are (disappointed?! — you can check out event pictures on my Instagram ). Instead, this post is about Celebrity Public Responsibility .

As a 20 year veteran in the Health and Public Safety sector, I have had the honor and privilege in serving as an Emergency Medical Services officer (EMT/EMT-P), 9-1-1 Dispatcher, Supervisor, and Director of City and Countywide Operations for Emergency Services.

Over the years, I have deployed on numerous natural and man-made disasters, including the Sept 11, 2001 attack in New York City, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and most recently, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in 2017, and have had the privilege of serving and working with many dedicated and talented individuals.

Being a veteran in the Health and Public Safety sector, I have gained a vast working knowledge of healthcare, public safety, communications and disaster management and mitigation.

I look forward to working with Asgardia, and its citizens as we usher in a new era for mankind. Together, we can make a difference!

I am in my early thirties, and my primary employment is to support Deaf children with Special Needs in the Baltimore City public school system. Some of my students are incapable of effective communication in the written form, because of their special needs. None of them would be capable of a verbal conversation without the use of assistive medical devices. There is no reason to exclude people like them from Arcadia, yet exclusion already occurs.

The most obvious point of exclusion? None of the many Sign Languages that exist on Earth are even considered a language by Arcadia. Because of the marginalization of the Deaf on Earth, none of them are even in consideration for Arcadia's 12 official languages. Our citizens will have Deaf children. They will also have children with Special Needs. They will have children with physical disabilities. They will have children with all of the above. Our government, and education system, must recognize such challenges so that we can solve them.
