Per Decree N3, anyone who does not vote yes on the constitution on Unity Day will not receive citizenship and will be formally designated as second tier non-citizen Asgardians. What will you do if you want to vote no on the constitution?

I think the point is, we have at this moment a mixture of immigration and establishing a new constitution.

We want establish a new state, with new constitution/governement without being citizens at this time... And we begin to discuss which kind of laws we want to have. ...

Are you conflating immigration policies and legal apparatuses for establishing new governments? That would neatly explain the confusion.

Plus no one is on about mass deportation, we are on about the granting of citizenship, I still can't get into the USA without a visa, if I sneak in, I would be sent back would I not unless I applied and accept the laws and responsibilities as ...

There has been surprisingly little discussion regarding how ordinary legislation will be proposed, passed, and ratified. If we are to propose a viable constitution for ratification in June, we must first decide who will pass laws and how they will be ratified. For the poll, please pick the option you ...

I didn't see a thread to discuss Dr. A's press releases today congratulating President Berdimuhamedow on his re-election as President of Turkmenistan and Mr. Steinmeier on his election as President of Germany. May we continue to establish and maintain friendly relations with all the nations of Earth!

No, you're the guy drawing attention to himself, which we need to do until we gain formal recognition. No one is going to recognize us if we can not even be bothered to perform the lip service.
Jun 13, 17 / Can 24, 01 09:29 UTC
Until the United Nations decides to acknowledge Asgardia as one of their own they won't care what we or the founder has to say. It's just lip service for them. It's equivalent to walking in a room with a fraternity composed of elites and nameless person coming in saying, "Hi, ...

A pertinent question is, of the four official congratulatory messages to Heads of State posted on the website so far ( Mauritius , Trump, Germany and Turkmenistan) did any make an official reply? This is relevent to gauge if or where Asgardia has any established credibilty at this point in ...

One of the goals of Asgardia is peace in space, leaving the conflicts of the earth on earth. One way to ensure this is to have the constitution require to Asgardia to remain formally neutral in military conflicts. Normal legislation can also accomplish this, but constitutional provisions are harder to ...

Dear asgardians, Asgardia should handled through normal legislation, Neutral constitution has no meaning for educated and well learned asgardians, Thanks.

To be quite blunt, exploding asteroids with ballistic projectiles just creates lots of smaller problems. We need to be avoiding generating debris as much as possible. Things like kinetic transfer via thermonuclear detonation are really at best last ditch solutions if nothing else can be made go in time - ...

If we have a canoon able to explode asteroids, yep, we should be neutrals. If not, some countries could see us like a threat to their security and their powers, and they could attack us to "protect the world", and to take the control of our weapon. If we want ...

This is a discussion meant for how the basic structure of the government of Asgardia will be organized. Our founder Dr. Ashurbeyli has proposed at minimum some form of democracy and a variety of ministries with specified areas of functional responsibility. This strikes me as reasonable and this seems to ...

>Qwerty said: Several good points I say this as someone strongly in favor of technocratic governments. Modern governments are defined by their formality and their tasks/duties, which means that an effective government is a professional, bureaucratic government. It is very important that the employees of the government are skilled at ...

I think that they should be appointed by a committee with limited amount of time a person can sit as a Minster. The committee should be made up by people who are in the respective field. I also think the Minster should have certain requirements before they can be considered.

For me, there's a third option to this matter. Selected at random. Now let me explain it. Interested people would have to pass a test to verify their aptitude to the job. That test would consist of two stages: a general and specific knowledge exam, and for those who pass ...

This forum format is frustrating to try and carry a debate with. Unless you have someone comment directly to you. It's hard to keep track of things. Probably one of the most irritating formats when I am enjoying the dialog. Not trying to be rude, just find it quite limitating ...

Definitely, being able to nest replies to specific posts in a user collapsable tree would improve usability and clarity. It should be reasonably simple to accomplish, too, being features in existing open source systems.

I agree. It would be great if there was an option to reply to a person directly, so it shows up below their post. If a thread has several pages and I want to address someone on say page 4 of 12, my post will be on page 12 and ...

Matrix is a new communication/chat platform that is federated. It uses p2p connected servers to share information across a single global network. The advantage of p2p networks in relation to space is that we can have the same network span multiple planets and space stations rather than being bound to ...

We should have "layers of security", where the "core structures" (central archives, ministry ones) should be insulated by the "intranet" which, in turn, should be insulated by the "internet". The digital infrastructures should be based on linux, which is opensource and can be verified and compiled on need. Even CPUs ...

I´m not sure if "connect one planet only for one day to week" is the best option. Maybe we need layers of security and isolate the critical infraestructure to the rest of the network. Thanks
