I've reviewed so many well-written and well-articulated platforms leading up to the Parliamentary Elections.  As I've indicated to many of you, if selected, I sincerely look forward to the opportunity to meet you and to work with you in the years to come.  The election process was a great opportunity to stimulate discussion and to create excitement among the electorate.  I look forward to continuing these conversations.

As we are upon the closing of Asgardian elections, one thing is certain, everyone believes in this path, but do they know how to get us there. I would argue that to be no. Make no mistake, its no small feat to have launched a cube sat into space and have an exchange of information between Asgardia 1 and its terrestrial communication source, but the reality is...how do you accomplish your long term goals when before we as humans could even crawl, we needed to touch, taste, and see, everything around us.

Asgardia needs a home, it needs a space port to launch from, it needs a place to invite its citizens. Unless we all wish to move to Antarctica, landmass options are very limited.  However water is not, and new sources of green sustainable resources are ever increasing. Over the next several weeks I am going to post articles and research that will allow Asgardia to become a new sovereign nation built on an Artificial land mass, self powered, able to sustain its needs for food, water, and energy. As a nation we must first crawl....

There is no doubt that the United Nations with all of its political nuances makes it difficult for burgeoning countries such as Asgardia to reach Global legitimacy. Afterall, the UN can't even decide on the small strip of land called Isreal. If the UN existed in 1775, would the 13 colonies of the America's have been recognized?

Is there another way? Empires of great power over the ages have risen and fallen. Great alliances have joined in force and in peace, but how many in the last 1000 years of human history have remained constant and steadfast.

Like many examples in today's world were the ability to take part in legitimate enterprises with equally matched micro opportunities there exists success and opertunity, from the big investmennt traders of Americas Wall-street to the home office of a day trader, to the global currency exchanges of the world to the digital currencies like Bitcoin, from the global nations dictating policy for the world, there are Micro-nations, individually with a small voice but under a chartered United Micro-Nation (UMN) organization, Asgardia can find allies, investors, friends, and a common voice.

In most of todays governments, transparency takes a back burner in the name of "national security" or "need to know". I believe in transparency, that is in that "the people, have a right to know what the governments actions and intentions are, unless in dire moments of terrorist threats or acts of war, which is a given. However, the hush hush, behind closed door dealings that take no account of the will of the people, in essence, removing the people's right to make informed decisions, completely goes against that which should be a democratic governmental system. This is one of the systemic failures currently in the United States Government. Most politicians who attend these behind closed door meetings, at some point, get "bought" by special interests, in turn giving their vote for that cause, which often times, completely contradicts the will of the people, or would, had the people been given the opportunity to make their voices heard. In nearly 20 years of service to countless communities, one thing that I am truly proud of in dealing with governments, at least, on a local level is that I cannot be bought. And I have always taken the utmost pride in standing up for the rights of the people. I have nothing to hide, and personally welcome transparency. Shouldn't your government?

This is the opportunity to start fresh and find true freedom and human connection. We deserve leaders who will listen, be open, and lives every day to ensure the respect and protection for all Asgardia. I hope I can be one of those leaders for you.

I’ve spent my life connecting communities and being a voice that spreads intercultural communication and cross-cultural understanding. I hope to assist in strengthening our bond as we grow as a new nation and being here for any person (regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, physical or mental ability, economic status, etc.), who needs someone to stand for them.

Found out about this nation today and had to apply. This is the greatest thing I have ever seen and I feel like this is what I have always been missing. To be part of something that has the ability to be life changing is nothing short of AMAZING!!!

I hope that many more join and give their support to make this possible.

I won't claim to know everything. But, one thing that I do know is that we can, and must do better than currently do as a human race. We must remember that a government is one that consists "of the people, by the people, for the people". We must expect better - and we must work collectively to do and be as such. We cannot afford to do things the way that they have always been done. We must think radically by stepping outside the box, and put the people first. For what is a government, if there are no people to govern?

We can do better. It starts with us (the citizens) and ends with the leadership, not the other way around.

We live in a world that is riddled with corruption, war, disease, poverty and destruction. Yet, we have governments playing games of political warfare dividing the people and inciting turmoil, all while the threats of actual war loom over each of our heads. Somewhere along the way, the governments of the world forgot (or choose to ignore) one of the greatest (and much needed) elements of all: THE PEOPLE .

I believe in Asgardia and all that it stands for. And, though Asgardia may be in its infancy, it truly is something remarkable. Asgardia in itself is a symbol of HOPE and shows a collective desire to do, and be, better than we are today. And while a lot of great things have already happened, or are on the horizon for Asgardia, there is still much to do. But, through the hard work and dedication of the hundreds of thousands of individuals like you, who are committed to the hope that Asgardia inspires, I know that WE can make change the paradigm of what it is to be a civilization.

That is why I am proud to announce my intent to submit a bid to run for candidacy for the Parliament of Asgardia.

Last weekend I got to live two hours of liberating music and euphoria, as a packed football stadium in all their differences, came together to celebrate what they had in common — their love of a band. The band was Coldplay and I was more excited than a kid at a sleepover party! I knew that memories from this night would be etched in my soul forever just like six years ago when I saw them live in concert for the first time. But this post is not about Coldplay and how inimitably awe-inspiring they are (disappointed?! — you can check out event pictures on my Instagram ). Instead, this post is about Celebrity Public Responsibility .
