Introduction:
It has been very hard to create a totally new design, which is supposed to be representative of both human kind and the Asgardia project. The main difficulty was to represent all of humanity without using symbols, designs or icons with strong religious, political or national ties, because these could result divisive. So, I decided to take ancient symbols from alchemy, mythology and geometry, mixing them, in order to represent our new nation. Enjoy.

Description:
The central triangular symbol is known in western alchemy as the Hellenic element for “earth”. I have taken it in order to represent the entire concept of earth in its entirety, in terms of elements, nature and beings:
MOTHER EARTH.

The cyan blue of the main field represents the sky, which connects all of humanity, in its deepness many a dreamer raised his eyes looking for invisible answers.
The black symbolize the space, the unknown surrounding us.

The two circles drawn into the triangle stand for planet earth and moon.
I decided to draw them linked like this because they are inseparable concepts. The moon, as the sky, is one of the things that all earthlings could see and share.
Moreover, the moon was the first great target in the human pursuit of space, so it could symbolize the last limit we reached in space as human kind.

The colours of the rainbows want to symbolize the Bifröst which “in Norse mythology, […] is a burning rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard, the realm of the gods.”
So I put it going from blue to blue, passing through the central symbols, touching all elements of the flag.
It wants to represent both peace, of course, and the reason why I personally decided to join citizenship, “[…]to serve entire humanity and each and everyone, regardless of his or her personal welfare and the prosperity of the country where they happened to be born.”

I thank you for your attention

I hope you will enjoy this design
