Dr Igor Ashurbeyli, accompanied by members of his administration, at the Wallops launch site, Virginia, where he will witness the launch of the Asgardia-1 satellite into orbit. The launch is scheduled for today at 11:37 GMT.

Countdown to historic launch of space kingdom’s first satellite
The Asgardia-1 satellite, carrying a hard disk containing the space nation’s Constitution, flag, coat-of-arms and data from the first citizens of Asgardia, is set to blast into space this month.

The population of Asgardia has recently overtaken that of Saint Vincent, putting Asgardia in 175th place by population size worldwide, as over 109 650 citizens sign up to the first space nation.
Asgardia and UNESCO Presented Awards to Space Explorers
Asgardia's Head of Nation Igor Ashurbeyli and UNESCO’s Director General Irina Bokova presented awards for outstanding space exploration. The first among the best – astronauts Valentina Tereshkova, Yang Liwei, Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez and Koichi Wakata -- were honored with the prize for strong contribution to science.
The ceremony took place at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris.
