I know that as we ascend to the stars, that the possibility of illness in an enclosed though large space can be daunting to think about. I know that first and for most we should ensure that each citizen has a health plan for their self as well as family members. If it is something our government will cover under law then, we will have the same coverage as the leaders of our new interplanetary state. Unlike earth state's pharmacy deals with doctors, if it does not benefit our people and only fills the pockets of a corrupt system, it should be illegal. I believe we should have medicines and vaccines available for our people, but our laws should indeed protect us from being corporate guinea pigs and also prevent the exploitation of illness. We should have free healthcare, access to holistic and pharmaceutical medications for the treatment of illness and the preservation of human life. We should ensure the proper tests for certain conditions and treat mental health as a physical illness instead of symptomatic. With proper treatments and an over haul of the current earth state health sytems, we could set the bar for healthcare.  When did money become the sole interest of medicine. Wasn't medicine a way to help each other? Women's healthcare shouldn't be left up to the choice of another. Women should have access to other medical procedures rather than just abortion or adoption options. In the states it is illegal for a woman under 21 to have a tubal ligation, the reasons are that she may change her mind about the number of children she has or doesn't have, so our appointed representatives here decided that it's not up to her to have anymore options than to breed or kill. In the states a woman has little to no freedom over her body medically. If a properly informed and educated female wants to have a sterilization procedure done even before she is 25 years of age she should be allowed to chose that for herself. Everyone should be allowed to make informed and educated decisions in regards to their health.
