I don't think we should dump the old just because of age. We should see about overcoming the challenge of ageing we will have the advantage of weightless and some more flexible ethics then most scientific groups on earth. It would be a shame to waste the knowledge and experience that older Asgardians will have.

I haven't seen that twin research you mentioned. I may take a look at that. Thanks for the information exchange. Also, go vegan. I chose that path and it does very well. It helps with slow aging and long term health benefits. There's a 95 year old yoga instructor that can do amazing things:

@birthofgenesis, Yes, I totally agree. You'll have to forgive me, I was having a little humor there about old bodies, and everything goes 'south' when we get older. I've been watching the videos and research working with those specific topics, and I'm glad that NASA had the ability to study twins, such as Scott Kelly and his brother. It's got a lot of potential to helping us. I also saw your video from the other link, and I wish we had a current ship design, or ISS module that could test the spinning concept for gravity. That is definitely a major key in keeping our bodies in shape for longer voyages, and being able to work once we do land on other planets.

**Personally** speaking I would hazards to guess that as with any nation, a complete cross section of the working spectrum will be required eventually. I would say that we would require engineers, architects, designers and a whole host of other "building" professionals to start with, and increasing in variety and roles as we expand. At some point I would envisage the need for waste disposal experts or "waste to energy technicians" to processes what we always leave behind after us. However, these are the first months of discussions and while these ideas may be buzzing frantically in our minds right now, to actually take them to a deployment stage will take years or hard work and patience.

I think its only fitting to pick a name which associates to Valhalla and the Nordic Mythology so names that I like for a capital city would be the name of a Nordic God whom would be in Valhalla like Erna, Orvar, Signy, Svanhild, Verdandi, Volund those are just a few which I would admire a capitol city to be named after. ERNA - Norse Mythology, Icelandic, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish Means "brisk, vigourous, hale" in Old Norse. This was the name of the wife of Jarl in Norse legend. Valhalla is going to be an unofficial nickname, why not make it the official one? The ancient Greeks called the left flank, where the majority of fatalities occurred, the "lucky" flank. It is most auspicious to name the heart of a nation the hall of the dead. Realistically, though, the capital is going to be an office complex on Asgardia. We will be very small, both in terms of population and area for the indefinite future. There's no utility to building a separate station for the purpose of having a capital city.

That would be censorship and infringement upon the right folks have to speak what is on their minds. Not every thought a person has will have humanitarian values and there is nothing wrong with that. The type of speech that some type of action should be taken against is hate speech. Maybe not restrictive actions but any hate speech comments should be locked at the very least. As has already been said the rights and responsibilities approach would be far better

Hi Scarbs, You make a really good point. I haven't kept up on the current Constitution, but I can't wait to see how we go forward with this. I do know it's going to be interesting to see how our citizens work together to go forward with it. I'm sure a lot of people will be dealing with some very new concepts. Right and responsibility...I wish more people believed in that model. I wonder if more did, how society would be...especially here in the US.

Where was this announced, precisely? When? I must of missed that. It certainly needs a lot more planning, for example all the points I've already raised that make such a thing unfeasible at our current venture, or realistically within the next few decades.

Essential - but yes it is. However, as we're unlikely to have borders any time soon - and thusly in no way actually responsible for our own population - rather than be hasty and do everything as "early as possible" I would suggest concentrate on doing the "best as possible". There's plenty of time, there's no rush.
