Let me introduce myself. I'm Andreas Chiou, and I'am running for a second term for Asgardians parliament. Currently I am a member of the first Asgardia Parliament and member of the Science Committee. I am working on the Asgardia Cosmos project, (www.asgardiacosmos.com) our nation’s Virtual 3D world. In my team there are several other parliamentarians like Amalia Manias, Salvos Mousakitis, Spiros Catechis and Dimitris Kantalis. We are working on this project for more than 4 years and it is quite ready to be online. The environment of the Asgardia Cosmos is a virtual three dimensional space with public buildings like the HON’s tower, the Parliament, the Government’s building, the ministries, squares, streets, parks anything you would find in a typical modern commercial city. The Asgardians, upon entering the website, find themselves in the middle of a square in a three dimensional environment After selecting their desired avatar, they are able to wander freely all around the city just as they would on a real shopping spree at a large shopping center of a big city. They can also chat with other Asgardians from all over the world, socialize and exchange their opinions on stores and experiences regarding electronic purchases. You may download our Project’s brochure and read everything about Asgardia Cosmos. We have also created several useful websites like Asgardia Travel (www.asgardiatravel.com), and working on our Nation’s first e-shopping Mall, the Asgardia Shop (www.asgardia.shop). I live in Athens, Greece where Democracy has been born 2.500 years ago.

My vision is to bring pure democracy into Asgardia, in order to ensure equal rights for every citizen.

The Athenian Democracy was founded upon the core values of freedom and equality. Freedom of speech, equality in education, health, elected and with an equal opportunities political system. It was these fundamental principles that created the necessary environment for civilization to flourish and great artifacts and monuments to be built.

But, what is the real meaning of Democracy?

Democracy (Greek: δημοκρατία dēmokratía , literally "rule of the people"), in modern usage, is a system of government in which the citizens exercise power directly or elect representatives from among themselves to form a governing body, such as a parliament.

Democracy consists of four key elements:

A political system for choosing and replacing the government through free and fair elections

The active participation of the people, as citizens, in politics and civic life

Protection of the human rights of all citizens, and

A rule of law , in which the laws and procedures apply equally to all citizens.

To create a society in which an informed and active citizenry is sovereign and make policy decisions based on the will of the majority

I live in Athens, Greece where Democracy has been born 2.500 years ago.

My vision is to bring pure democracy into Asgardia, in order to ensure equal rights for every citizen.

Congratulations on the clean and honest campaign, worthy of an Asgardian. In the days leading up to the parliamentary elections in Asgardia, I met people highly qualified to hold a post in Parliament, but for some reason failed to achieve this goal. What I have to say to these extraordinary minds who have not been elected to Parliament is that we Asgardians all have a role to play in building our society. We do not need to be in Parliament or in Government. In Asgard we are all equal in importance. Only the workplace is different. These bright and dreamy minds will be able to assist parliamentarians and ministers by contributing their knowledge to the construction of Asgardia. We need people who are capable, above all, of well-intentioned support to parliament and government, and these people have already shown what they are capable of by taking up leading public office, and they will certainly be asked in a timely manner. This is admirable. Anyone who puts collective interest above private interest is worthy of my respect and admiration. We are all to be congratulated in this first stage of the construction of Asgardia. Campaigns clean, no personal offense, unlike any we're used to seeing on the news. The Asgardian citizens gave an example of civility and respect. I'm very happy for this. I am a Social Scientist, Specialist in Projects and Social Policies. I work in the Federal Public Administration, where I learned everything not to be done in the public service. I have mainly learned that: In our local society, IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE LEGALLY CORRECT, WE SHOULD BE RIGHTEOUS, and our justice is not always on the side of what is humanly just. I want to be Minister of Citizenship because I feel aligned with Asgardian thinking. I am not only referring to my academic background, because knowledge means nothing if I do not walk side by side with good intentions. These are things that complement each other. I consider myself a person prepared to take over the Ministry of Citizenship, because I allowed life to teach me. I have been a good observer of social relationships throughout my life and I know the mechanisms of interaction in these relationships (I want to thank the Parliamentary candidate, Geoffrey West, a brilliant mind in every way, who made me realize that). A qualified person is not made with a university degree. A person prepared for a position of government does not necessarily need a university degree. He needs knowledge allied to the love of his brothers. If I have the honor of being chosen, I know that I will have special people of character and knowledge necessary for the performance of my ministerial activities. I am not afraid of the future because I will have my brothers highly qualified to build our ideal. I would like the future legislators in Asgardia to remember that. As I have just said, when they begin their activities, the Law must be based on moral principles, not on the moral principles of our original societies, but on the moral principles that govern the good and fraternal human nature that we possess. Because we are different: WE ARE ASGARDIA! I want the Light to accompany our elected members of Parliament. Believe in your love intuitions, for they will never be wrong. Good work, everyone.
