Am I missing some part of the website/ forum? Where can I see a timeline of events/ projects (JIRA/ Asana are great programs) for us to achieve (or have achieved) milestones? With now way of regular updates or acknowledgment for tasks completed, it does give an impression of a lack of forward motion.

I'm sorry to say you're missing nothing at all... at least nothing that we're not missing still, as we're asking (at least) to see some kind of roadmap, if not a full project planning, since months... with no luck. So, maybe you're right and this is (one of) the cause(s) why " there doesn't seem to be as much involvement as you would hope ".
I hope you read "our" Constitutional draft as well and I'll look forward to know what you think of it (there's plenty of threads where we're discussing it).

If we can not secure a location within another country ( as I imagine we would be charged a significant amount from larger countries such as Australia)  we would need to focus on a smaller country perhaps not in the space treaty.  Alternatively a floating space dock perhaps as.   This is ambitious but I would look towards a smaller nation.

Anyone want a spaceport that's already been built, and even listed as an alternate landing zone for the Space Shuttle programs? Look no closer that Moses Lake, Washington. It's a long runway that was an alternate for the shuttle program if any of their primaries failed. It has also been used for Boeing testing aircraft.

I also believe there's a spaceport that's been designated down in Arizona that White Knight/Space Ship One has been being tested out of.

I find this topic very interesting and after reading all the comments I feel I must add my 2 cents as well.

I am ex military and security. Conscription should only be used as a last resort. It is far better to have a core of professionals supported by trained volunteers that are called upon on a rotation based roster serving no more then a month (the government could extend this length of service if it needed) then returning to their full-time position.

This way you would have a pool of people to draw from when needed.

This could apply to all branches ie Medical, Food service, Sanitation,  Immigration and Security, Engineering and Maintenance etc.

Anyway thats my 2 cents worth.
