The principles of Asgardia inspire me. They take the best of what Earth’s states have created, and transcend them towards values of integrity. Asgardia can lead humanity both outside the planet, and act to lift up states on Earth.

Foremost among Asgardia’s challenges will be recognition among other states. Outreach, promoting Asgardian ideals and values, growth in citizenship, should be Asgardia’s most pressing activity. Once Asgardia obtains that recognition, it can act as a force of integrity and impartiality, moderating disputes on Earth.

Asgardia’s lack of physical territory represents one of its greatest challenges. Its financial viability will need to be established based on real technological, industrial, or other commercial activities.

I do, however, see the parliamentary age restrictions as running counter to Asgardia's values. The notion of a 'Kingdom' and apparent centralization of power as well seem regressive aspects among otherwise high-minded values.

Regardless, I anticipate great things in Asgardia's future. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of.

So, one thing that I am seeing a lot of is; people stating that those of us who are under 40 years of age running in the elections, should step down because it is un-Constitutional for us to be in Parliament.

I have a few questions for you, number one is, have you read the Constitution in full?

If you say yes, then my next question is, do you actually understand it?

Now, many of you might state yes, but I would like to know your proof of this with documentation from it defending your claims.

I originally signed and accepted the Constitution, knowing full well that I, someone only 31 years of age, could not be in Parliament. So, to do my part I chose to become a local leader instead, and work my way up to a clerk of some kind over the next 10 years so that when I was 40 I would be able to run.

Then, when Parliament seats opened up for the first election the website stated anyone 18 years of age could run. This got me excited! I knew I probably wouldn’t have a chance because of my lack of experience, but I chose to put myself out there because I had faith that maybe someone might vote for me.  Even if I didn’t make it in, if I got one vote that would make me happy knowing that others saw my vision as something that they could align themselves with.

So, I transferred my platform from Trendsetter over to Candidacy and said I would update it later from its one page to a bit more rounded. Through doing this I made a few friends, that I am now running with/against.

Then I was told, “Oops sorry! Our bad you can’t run anymore, or well you can but we won’t let you in” (paraphrasing). Which, is fair as per said Constitution.

Even though the website said one thing, then they said it was a mistake and I can understand that. Mistakes happen.

Then myself and some others started doing some math, specifically one of my favourite areas, statistics and probability! I don’t know about you, but I love math, more than most people.

We looked, and we saw that as of a few days ago, there were not enough people qualified by age alone, to fill all the seats in our district. So we looked to the other district to get a bigger picture.  Do you know what we noticed? The trend was across the board! There were not enough people over the age of 40 that were running for Parliament.Then, how many of those had actual names, or platforms? Even less!

So here we are, disbarred by age, yet qualified by platform, drive, and community support.

Then, we were told again at a later date, to keep in the running to prove ourselves for other key roles in the Government, which I was planning on doing anyways. So we started talking with one who is qualified by age, experience, and is a state lawyer. John S Sanders.

He said we should keep going, and take things the next step.

We talked via private channels, tried to find out what is happening. Now we have a poll to find out what the citizens want.

Again before you say we shouldn’t do it with a poll, tell me how exactly we would do this?

So, if you did read the Constitution you would know it states:

Chapter 5, Article 16, Subsection 2

The Collective will of Asgardian citizens shall be implemented through their participation in elections to Asgardia’s governmental bodies, monitoring these bodies, referenda, and interaction with their representatives in elected governmental bodies.

As well as in:

Chapter 3, Article 10, Section 6

The Government shall establish its public opinion and take the same into account when making administrative decisions in accordance with Asgardia’s Laws.

Now I don’t know about you but I am fairly certain that means, public opinion matters, and it is up to them to listen to public opinion when we do polls such as this.

Now the Head of State is the key unitary power in all matters.

I agree with that, that IS what I signed up for.

So, please don’t tell me to stop believing in the people.

Please stop telling them it is not their right to poll, and please accept that no matter what.

The Head of State has ultimate authority in these and all matters. So I will accept what ever he chooses.

Please try to get along.

Today is a beautiful day.   Regardless if it's raining, sunny sky's, or just cloudy.

Take a moment out of your busy life and look to the sky.  Things are great for all humanity and one day in the not so far future we will be smiling down on the sky your looking up to.

This is one of my favorite pictures from voyager when Carl Sagan suggested to turned it around to take a picture of earth from behind Saturn and we are just a tiny blue dot. It brings the realization of just how small we truly are in the universe and makes you realize how small your ideals, problems, communities, people, and everything is. The universe is much larger than anything and is the final frontier to discover. As an Asgardian, I feel that in some way I have reached beyond the blue dot to visualize something just a bit bigger, perhaps someday the human race will look back and see that this was the start of something much larger than the blue dot we started from. To growth and prosperity of the human race, may we explore and move beyond our solar system.

Greetings and Salutations.

I plan to represent the people to the best of my ability.  All I want is the survival and protection of our species and our home planet, I wish to help guide us into the future.  I believe in the need of a space defence program to protect us from debris and any other external force that may harm us or our planet.  I believe in peace, and strive for it daily, fighting my own demons to make myself into a better person for the benefit of mankind.

I believe that we should look for likeminded people that are frustrated with the state of the planet and feel like there is nothing they can do because they feel alone.  This is something that I think many of us might feel or have felt in the past.  I believe we are one people, one planet, and we of Asgardia need to be a beacon of light to guide humanity into the future.

As a man who grew up with nothing, has felt a lot of suffering the world has to offer. I know that it is only by our actions that we can move forward and make the world a better place not by dwelling on the past, rather we need to learn from it, educate the next generations, and move forward as Earthlings.  I believe that we need a very firm judicial system, and must hold ourselves to the highest of standards above all others set forth by current political systems.

I am a man of logic, and spirit. Philosophy is needed to help us reflect on our purpose, and I feel mine is to serve my species to the best of my ability and make it a better place than the one I came into.  I am a father, and I try to help my children learn from my mistakes in hopes they will not make the same ones, yet I understand that they need to make their own in order to grow.  I feel this same way about all Earthlings.

We need to be the change we wish to see in the world.  Compassion for our fellow Earthling needs to be a focus, while defending our own.

On inviting people to Asgardia:

One thing that I would like to touch on is thinking about who we invite to join us.  I may not have strong English, although I have a passion for all the sciences; specifically, physics, engineering, and mathematics.  I was always advanced for my years in those subjects. Now one thing we should consider is that not everyone is great at everything, most people have one field they are great at, and we have to consider this when inviting people.

We need artists just as much as we need engineers.  We need people that know their passions and chase after them.  Please don't judge someone by how they look, get to know them well, and when you think they are a person you could live with as a neighbour and they have skills that will be useful, then invite them. Don't just invite people because they are beautiful or because you have a chemical reaction in your brain telling you that you should reproduce with them.

If a person cannot even contribute to our broken system we have in place then how can they benefit this new one we are trying to form?  Even with this in mind, some people choose not to do much in our current world because they are so upset with the way things are.  Maybe they are not apathetic, maybe they are so empathetic they cannot function well in our society.

I think all these things are what we should contemplate before sending an invite to join our growing nation.

Trans-Planetary Relations with other sentient life when Asgardia comes in contact with another species and the freedom of information to all Citizens on this topic.

App/Cloud security platforms for real-time voting on all Asgardian matters to let representative know what the people they represent want them to vote for.

The formation of a Senate under the current leader of Asgardia.

These are just a few of the topics that I will touch on and expand with those who vote for me.  Please keep in touch with me and stay up to date with my blog.  I plan to create minutes for discussions with those who I represent.

I am the manager and head technician of a cellphone store in Duncan, B.C. (The Cell Shop).

I have a passion for physics and am currently doing MIT courses online for free to further my education.

I am working towards a Ph.D. in Electromagnetics and Photonics.

I am also an artist and craftsman.

My favorite mediums are metal, wood, and bone/antler.  I make knives, design machines and tools to help friends in many fields; from agriculture/aquaponics to automobile fuel conversion systems.

I am a father of 3, my oldest daughter was born on Feb. 18, 2013 and I have fraternal twins (boy and girl) born on Dec. 27, 2015.

I can fix most things that use electricity; from cellphones to home appliances.

I am an athlete, and have competed in Judo, track and field (100m-1200m, javelin, discus, high jump, long jump), and also downhill longboarding and downhill mountain biking.

I am a spiritual man of science, currently ordained via Universal Life Church.

I would love to play a role in this grand experiment. Here's to a future of innovation, and inner reflection.

Currently I'm 27 years old, and live in Abbotsford BC. I teach Meditation and am a Sifu of Yang style Tai Chi. I teach at Two Dragons, which is located in downtown Abbotsford, and have been with this school for about 8 years now. This is my passion, this is what I love. And what I love most about it, is that mindfulness teaches us to see the world as it is.

Anyone with the eyes to see it will notice that he world is changing in ways that we cannot undo. Our Human civilization has made some grave mistakes that will impact us for some time to come. However, we possess the capacity to unite ourselves and to actively choose to make a difference. Even if in the grand scheme of things our choices may not impact us so much, they will most certainly impact those we sire.

Should we choose to unite, and make a difference by applying our knowledge and wisdom. I am sure we can innovate new ways to improve and better this world. Perhaps even undo some of our careless past.

I have no expectations to be elected in anyway, but would love to contribute my insight, and apply my practice of Tai Chi and Meditation.

Hello fellow Asgardians,

I am Karel L.B. Van Cutsem (KVC) aka Charles.

A Belgian magician/graphic designer that moved to Canada and traveled all over the Earth.

After traveling and experiencing wonderful moments with lots of different people I decided to settle down for a while in the 2nd biggest country on Earth, Canada.

Whilst I am working I decided to put myself to the challenge of becoming a great magician in Canada and to become a trendsetter in our Asgardian Culture, note that I write Culture with a capitol c because that is what we are, a great Culture, a great Nation!

I come from a small town in Belgium called Opwijk, 20 km from The European capitol Brussels, where the grass is green, the beer is always flowing and smiles are a currency. Everybody knows everybody, something that is not uncommon in a small town. I come from a big family, 2 older sisters and a younger sister and brother. We are always ready to help oneanother and help whenever possible. Life is very easy in this little town as are the people. But I decided to see more of the world for this little town became to small for me.

Then suddenly you meet someone who makes see things from a different perspective.

She is also from the same small town but her parents decided to move to Canada when she was 8.

And so by coincidence, on December 31st 2015, I met the person who changed my perspective on the world. We started talking and dancing and didn't stop until the sunrise. Love, what a wonderful thing.

I decided to work hard and play hard, that is how I was able to travel with my beautiful partner all over the world and experienced great moments that I can cherish as wonderful memories forever, at least until the day I die. What a great way of living and learning when you jump into the unknown.

I strive to be a great Asgardian and a great Asgardian trendsetter as a magician/graphic designer.

This will be a challenge, but what is life without challenges. It would be a very boring experience.

I have yet to determine if this is a serious thing or not but the idea of an eventual space nation is incredibly intriguing. Do I think I will end up in space in my life time.....no, but maybe my children may have a chance to go to space if they so choose.

A little bit about me. I am a single mother with a 3 year old daughter and I am trained as a birth assistant (doula) and dabble in herbal remedies and alternate medicine with a certain interest in woman's reproductive health. I am interested in permaculture and homesteading and feel like this could help in the creation of a growing civilization.

Intergenerational segregation has become a social norm. Factors such as extended families living apart, divorce and family disputes, and the rise of pension-supported retirements, have all led to fewer opportunities for intergenerational interactions. Playing digital games together creates a leisure context for common goals, cooperation and equal status that are key factors for successful intergroup interactions.

Our research team is conducting an online study to understand the features of intergenerational play between old adults aged 55+ and young family members aged 15 and 30. This study is financially supported by one of the eight National Centres of Excellence (NCE) work projects as part of a large NCE grant from 2015-2020 for $36.6 million ( http://agewell-nce.ca ).
